The chicken shawarma, or chicken gyro or döner, was delicious. I like that they grill the whole world once it's ready. Besides... its crust is crispy, the whole eating experience was not messy. Their slogan is best shawarma in town, and they are not lying???? This place deserves a 6 star rating on both food and service!... I have been struggling to find authentic mediterranean food that tastes good in NYC and i could say i covered the majorityaround town, this place by far exceeded all to the point where they are now my go to choice and caterers for events???? This cozy restaurant is amazing! Their lamb plate is stellar and not too heavy while their chicken shawarma lava is tasty.... Definitely also try out the baba ganouch and their cinnamon tea. Read more

I visited Lava Shawarma when they opened on Saturday morning. There wasn?t indoor dining and the outdoor seating area had not... been set up yet, so I ordered my food to-go. I got the Chicken Shawarma Burger, which was a great portion for the price. Thechicken was tender? a bit salty, but not so much that it masked the distinct flavor of the meat. It came with some basic fries(out of the freezer) which were different from the ones in their photos. They were alright as a side. However, I didn?toriginally order the fries, so I think the man behind the counter had selected the meal option instead of just the sandwich. Hechanged the screen too quickly for me to see exactly what I was being charged for, so I would keep an eye on the display asyou?re ordering.
