Pretty disappointing. The brisket taco was BLAND and the side salad was literally a few pieces of lettuce, some radish and pico... de gallo (but not a lot). Good thing I got chicken on top of it because it wouldn?t have filled me up. Also quite expensive sodefinitely not worth it. Why is it so hard to find a decent taco in NYC? Smfh Read more
$15 for quesadilla the size of two tacos! Growing up in the 90s, Taco Bell was part of my diet (before I learned about the sand... additive, which they have subsequently taken out). I didn?t like their tacos much, but their quesadillas was quite fulfilling. Alarge, soft tortilla filled with beef and cheese folded in 1/2 and cut into slices like pizza. It brings back fond memories forme just typing it out, even though I would be extremely disappointed if I have one today. So when I saw this place servingquesadillas with al pastor style meat, I couldn?t resist, even if it cost $15 before taxes. I know, midtown lunch prices hasgone up quite a bit since I left my previous job back in 2016, but at $15, they better be on their game. They were not. Ifputting cheese on tacos lets you call them quesadillas, then at least have the decency to put up a picture of how it looks like.But nope, that?s nowhere to be found at their stall. A palapa is an open hut with a palm-thatched roof. I assume the place is named for that because it is the only house you would... be able to afford after purchasing food from this place. The tacos are delicious with different spice rubs and marinades foreach meat, and double wrapped in traditional tortillas. But 5-6 dollars plus tax per taco is pushing it even for Manhattan. Read more
