I've had La Esquina on my list for a while bc I like the aesthetic a lot - especially the one in Nolita and finally decided to... drop in! Pretty solid menu for drinks and food but certainly expensive (2 tacos for $11.50). Doesn't exactly match the ambiencebut the food was really good. Their bistec taco wasn't what I expected but it was delicious as was the sopa de tortilla. Thejamaica was fine and small for $5. This place always is a great stop! I love how much outdoor seating they have, especially on a nice summer day it's wonderful to... sit outside and sip margaritas with some guac! I recommend the spicy jalapeño margarita for drinks, it does have a nice kick!Go with a pitcher if there are 4 of you or more, def worth it. I love their queso flameado, top it with mushrooms and it's agreat combo - almost feels like you're eating a quesadilla :) Overall: Good guac, great steak and shrimp tacos, love themushroom add on option to anything! Wish they had a better wait system, on busy nights it would be nice to leave my phonenumbers / have an app to let us know when our table is ready. I was so disappointed. Before even tasting anything, let me start by portion sizes. Oh man! Never been to a Mexican restaurant... where the portions were so small. Even the guac and chips... Definitely not shareable. The Chicken Tacos and Steak Tacos we'rekids meals. Worse part... The meat used for th steak tacos was Steak-Umm. The same near used for Philly Cheesesteaks (chopcheese). I’ve read a lot of the reviews here and am sure some people didn’t go to the same place. One guy thinks he went to a... club…..must have had some heavy shroom taco’s…. I visited 26th of March and tried all the taco’s. They cost 4.95 each.The reviews are correct to avoid the shrimp taco. 2 shrimp is a ripoff. The chicken is a little bland but the rest areexcellent. Drinks are really well made and great value if you got them at happy hour. One of the servers misunderstood our orderand the other was very good. I rate this place but you need to avoid the shrimp and chicken tacos. Read more
Fresh and relatively flavorful food, but not to my taste. I didn't like the crusty cheese and the taste of the beef on the... bisteak taco. The patio is very cute and cozy. The service was excellent. Read more
The food is good but not great, and it’s overpriced for the portion sizes. I got a carnitas torta - the meat was a bit dry and... it was really small for $17. The side salad it came with was a generous portion, but the giant lettuce leaves were not cut up soit was hard to eat, and the dressing they put on it was spicy - which I was definitely not expecting.
