Nice restaurant for brunch. The huevos rancheros were pretty good and so was the french toast.
Sunday, enter at 5PM starving group of 3, we get sat immediately which is amazing. We order a bottle of champagne, over $100,... order two appetizers… a cheese plate and an antipasto. The server tell us, you can have the drinks, but you need to wait 30minutes before we put the food in, the kitchen is behind from brunch. We left better restaurants that had 30 minute waitsbecause we were starving after a long day. I’m sorry, there are two cold appetizers, a cheese place and throw some peppersand olives on a plate. We inform the server that if the food cannot come out right away, please don’t bring the bottle ofchampagne. The server assured us that yes, the food order has been placed and she brought of the warm bottle of champagne. Well, we fell for it, the two appetizers didn’t arrive at the table until 5:32PM, so we did in fact have to wait till 5:30.The cheese plate was an absolute disgrace, it was three 1 inch by 2 inch cubes of cheese that had to be shared between threepeople. One of the dare I say chunks of cheese couldn’t even be cut with a knife because it was basically the rind of thecheese, so we never got to taste it. We all ordered the same entree, the linguine and clam sauce. As an Italian American NewYorker, two of us at the table in fact, I was disgusted. We all were and after two bites each, we left the inedible ramennoodles/ cup of soup on the table and asked for the check. I wouldn’t mind, but I commented on how well the scrubbed the clamsclean. Complete disappointment, no flavor, no texture, I swear you get a better instant ramen noodles from the local grocer for30 cents a package as opposed to this $30 entree. I’ve been going to this restaurant for years!!!! Food, drinks, greatvibe…Never had an issue, granted never ordered pasta, but today was a sham. The service was decent for the most part. Most of the drinks on the menu was not available so I settled for the "cucumber soda"... which was not very tasty. Food was also okay, nothing really to boast about. Ambiance was nice and they do ofter outdoor seatingin the back. Read more
We were seated up at the bar, a nice place to get to watch the chefs cook. The atmosphere is nice. Staff was very kind and... attentive. The eggs Benedict were beautiful but the flavor was just fine. The cornflake crusted french toast was very good. Ifwe were to go again we would get it and another dish. Read more
Hudson Clearwater used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the city and for some reason , I didn’t go there for more than... two years, so I was quite excited to go back. Went with a friend who visited from overseas and we both had a great experience.She ordered the duck and loved it. I got the hanger steak that was very tasty (although not the filling so get another side dishif you’re hungry). I also love their east coast oyster. Read more
Where do I begin? I was so disappointed with my last visit, after I had been so pleasantly surprised with a lunch here several... years ago. The hostess sat us at a table on the sidewalk that was on a slight slope downward and using a metal bench for some ofthe seating. When we asked nicely if any other table was available, the hostess immediately caught an attitude and respondedthat she actually loves that table...as if *she* were going to pay for our food that day? She appeared to be trying to find usanother table but was visibly frustrated with the whole situation, never speaking or updating us. Finally, we were brought to anicer table on the side of the restaurant, where we waited for a menu for about 15 minutes (only after our new waiter came up tous trying to take our order). I ordered possibly the worst Bloody Mary I've ever consumed. We had to constantly ask for morewater because no one was checking to see that our glasses had been empty for a while. And then the duck hash (pictured), whichhad a wonderful presentation and sounded scrumptious, was so overly salted that it was barely edible. I didn't have the heartto send it back - I wonder what the hostess would have thought of us. smh. This place has such promise, but it sorely needs newmanagement. Until then, skip it. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. The eggs Benedict were beyond delicious especially the spinach. There’s no way to... make this meal better. The location and setting is magical and the coffee was top tier. Every single person who works here ischarming and engaging. Will definitely come back in the future. Read more
