I really don't understand the 5-star reviews for this place, especially since this is in Manhattan. Maybe the reviewers haven't... experienced NYC properly or are new transplants. This is by far one of the most disappointing places I've been to in thiscity. The one redeeming quality and the reason I gave two stars is that the drink we ordered was good, so maybe if you onlystop by for drinks you'll be alright. But I came here for food. It's a really nice space and looks pretty, but the food lookslike something you'd get at a cheap cafeteria or worse - and it's not cheap. I spent $16 on a bowl that, even by Manhattan pricestandards, should have been no more than $8. There is no effort or thought put into presentation or execution. Nothing weordered looked appetizing. My friend's order was literally forgotten and she had to remind them (to essentially just fry twoeggs). The chicken was overcooked to dryness. The utensils come wrapped in a napkin that is fastened with a full sticker - whenyou unwrap it, the sticker rips the napkin apart. I don't know how no one caught this obvious logistical blunder. They also havethis white sauce that smells uncannily like Elmer's glue. I'm honestly shocked at how this place is still operating and at thepositive feedback they get on Google. I think conceptually they have a good idea, and they can easily do so much better with alittle thought and effort. I'm literally nobody and I know I could have executed this better. Read more

Got this tonight hoping for a fresh meal but it was far from it. The chicken looked inedible, the vegetables and fruit on the... salad were mushy. Didn?t even feel safe to eat it, honestly. I ended up throwing it away after one taste. It feels like thissalad had been sitting around for days. And the worst part is, it was $20. Will never go back. Read more

I chose this, because it doesn't feel like a Chain restaurant. I ignore whether it is or not, but it has the vibe of a locally... owned business. Great ambiance Read more

Raw chicken in my sunrise salad from Honeybrains in Noho I called to let them know, and expressed my concern that others may... have also received raw chicken. I was disappointed that they did not seem concerned and said they received the chicken precookedfrom a different location. that does not reassure me, if you serve the food- you should be checking it before you give it to thecustomer, regardless of who cooked it! Previously was my favorite salad in NYC :( now I don?t trust it. Read more

I feel stupid for spending $13 at Honeybrains. I had "The Cobb" salad and it was not good. Salads are inherently terrible... because they're just leaves, but somehow they managed to make it worse. The entire meal was just bland. There was zero flavor inanything. The chicken was dry and tough, the chickpeas were mush, and the bacon was flavorless. FLAVORLESS! Bacon!! How theymanaged to ruin bacon is beyond me. The best part may have been the hard-boiled egg--at least it wasn't overdone. Worth notingthat the greens were fresh-ish? This should've been a $5 salad like the ones you could get from Walgreens or CVS. If you want aquality salad, head over to Dig on Broadway. Read more
