My colleagues and I came here as a special occasion. I had seen the Eater video on YouTube and had to make a trip. The staff was... excellent and attentive. The dining room was pretty stunning to walk into, with its grand dome and classy booths. They make itfeel both sophisticated but also down to earth. The famous beef fat fries were addictive and the other sides were good as well.The steaks definitely had the characteristic charcoal flavor on the outside, but not as much crust as I would have liked. Thechateaubriand was a standout and the dessert was definitely a highlight as well. Would definitely recommend for a specialoccasion. Read more

Went here for dinner with my wife and kids and have to say will be coming back. The appetizers were great. Highly recommend... the oysters with bone marrow and the scallops. Steak selection was a good one and they do this by weight so you can gauge basedon the number of people you have in your party. It came out hot and correctly cooked to a perfect medium. For dessert do notforget the Toffee pudding. Has to be the best one I have ever tried. Came out hot and moist. Drink menu impressed as well withsome atypical cocktails. Overall a great dinner. It does get pricey but this is a high end steakhouse so this is expected butwell worth it. Read more

I visited Hawksmoor for an early dinner on a Saturday, with no reservation, and sat at the bar. The bartender, Jorge, was quick... to greet us, and throughout our two hour visit was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. He also let me know about acouple of amazing and rare whiskey options they had that were not on the menu. Our appetizer was the scallops, and they wereabsolutely melt in your mouth perfect. Dinner consisted of the 10 oz filet, medium rare. I had the peppercorn sauce and myfriend had the bone marrow sauce. We were both delighted. The dry aged steaks were cooked brilliantly, tender and juicy andflavorful but with a perfect caramelized sear. We both happily ate every bite. We shared two sides, creamed spinach and mashedwith gravy. There was enough for each of us, and both were delicious. We both remarked at the amazing flavor of the spinach. Itwas delicious. Finally for dessert we shared a toffee pudding, and again, it was perfect. All in all, one of the finest diningexperiences I have enjoyed during my ten years here in NYC. Had a very good time with friends here. The oysters are ultra fresh. The meats are good but I thought a bit too overcooked. I... ordered my ribeye as medium (which is what they recommend) but thought it was too well done. The creamy spinach side is verygood as well as the fries cooked on beef fat. Special nod to the ambience. Very nice place they have here. Well restored, anddecorated. All is in very good taste so to invite a special someone to a special occasion. Price is high though $$$$ Read more

We had a very enjoyable experience at Hawksmoor NYC with our family. The drinks, wine, and service was incredible. We had the... Ribeye and Porterhouse with creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, asparagus, carrots, and fries, which wereextraordinary. Lobster was also fantastic. We had every dessert on the menu and there are no words to describe how deliciousthey were-- we LOVED the dining experience and would highly recommend it. Read more

There was nothing really wrong with the meal but there was nothing that was exceptional that made me say wow, it's so good and I... can't wait to come back. The service was great... The waiter was knowledgeable, explained the cuts and seasoning perfectly. Heeven gave us a nice history of the restaurant and the building where the NY branch is. The appetizers and sides are singleportions and not appropriate to share. Maybe the scallops, oyster and salad.. But the pork belly, fries, creamed Spinach,asparagus... All on the smaller side. Definitely order enough if you have a large party and plan to share. The prices arecomparable to premium steak houses but I found the grass fed meat chewy and sinewy (a little). The marbling is not what I'maccustomed to in a nice slab of rib eye. The seasoning and flavors are spot on but the chewiness of our steaks is just not thesame as say Porterhouse Grill or Keens. I really wanted to love the place... But... The meat just didn't connect with mypalate. Maybe to others it'll be better.... Do give Hawksmoor a try and make your own judgment. Read more

Good vibe and good tasted great. Dry aged porterhouse 34oz had a great taste and cooked perfect. They have a set number of oz... cuts, so we couldn't get anything under 34oz since they were out. Spinach side was simple and good, Drinks were good. Broughtout a small chocolate sampler for my birthday. Only complaint was that service towards the end when we were done and wanting topay was really slow, but our server was running around and seems more like a slightly short staffed situation more than anythingelse.
