This was our first time having Basque cuisine. We had the octupus, sausage and iberico toast, duck, and a dessert I forgot the... name of. Every course was amazing. The chef even gave us some personal attention. It was our best dining experience in New Yorkon our current trip so far. Read more
Cute, quaint little restaurant. The food is beautiful but wasn’t that great. Things were rather bland. The staff and service... made up for that tho. The owner, Migel, was on site and extremely hospitable. Oysters and lobster appetizers were on the houseand Miguel also threw in treats for the road. We felt very welcomed and at home here. Great vibes! Read more
Went here on a Friday night as a walk in and it was quiet so we were seated which we were grateful for... However something was... off about the place. We sat in a back room which looked like it was for lessons, no issue but it was extremely small and theseating was uncomfortable. We listened to the ice fridge make ice for most of the meal. The staff seemed really overwhelmedwhich was confusing as it was quiet. The complimentary canape entree was welcome and delicious. Most of the wine menu wasunavailable though which was weird. When ordering I asked the size of the dishes and was told they were all small, the blackrice maybe for two. It was actually all quite large generous serves - which is a positive but it was like our server didn't evenknow the menu and meant we over ordered by a lot. We ended up therefore ordering an extra appetizer which I didn't really likeand at the end cancelling a main while we waited. It took a very long time for dishes to come out but I think that's becausethey come out one at a time which we weren't really informed this would be the style. The food was pretty tasty if you are aseafood lover! Read more
This deserves absolutely no stars. In fact, I am owed stars for showing up and interacting with the despicable piece of trash... that is the owner of this restaurant. My party reserved a private room a month in advance. Upon arrival we’re told thatanother party was placed in that room last minute. We have email proof of our reservation and confirmed it via phone two days inadvance. The owner and a majority of the wait staff were extremely hostile and unapologetic. The owner said his own wife whoconfirmed our reservation was bad at her job. I’ve never had an experience in New York this unpleasant. Avoid at all costs. The city is full of beautiful and delicious restaurants more deserving of your hard earned money. Read more

The food is incredible and astonishing! I personally recommend the lamb chop, which is super amazing. You can see how the chef... delicately makes the dishes! Also they are very thoughtful for vegetarians (my mother in this case) to provide additional snacksfor her. I also want to thank Eddy, a very responsible, friendly, and amazing waiter! You make our visit wonderful! Please donot hesitate to dine in! I strongly recommend Haizea for meals with friends and family! Read more
