Two words: Fine Dining. The service was top-notch. The ambiance was very romantic?.live jazz music playing. Food was pretty... average. My question is, why does fine dining always mean itty bitty portions? I feel like you are really paying for the fancyplating. If you want a romantic evening, this is a great place to go. One of the must try fine dining locations in the city. We got the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare & Cavatelli for the starters, both good... but a little under seasoned. For the main we had the Atlantic Halibut & Elysian Fields Lamb? these two leveled up theexperience, especially the lamb which was just perfection! For the dessert we tried the off menu strawberry tart with juicystrawberries marinated in their own compote but the tart shell & cream were too dry. Gotham lived up to its reputation for fine dining. Winter Greens salad, cavatelli and halibut were all amazing - preparation and... presentation. Exceptional wine and out of this world off-menu apple tarte tatin added to attentive service in the modern artadorned ambience rounded out the dining experience. Read more
Gotham is truly a gem. I've visited three times since they reopened. They execute every aspect of the dining experience... exceptionally well. The Gotham Restaurant is not only one of my favorite restaurants downtown, it's one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. The food,... wine list, and service at the bar has always been fantastic. While I liked the previous decor of the space better than therecent refresh, I still couldn't recommend this establishment highly enough! Read more
