Reviews for Go Go Curry Times Square in New York, NY

For those of you who used to eat at this location back in the day as a must eat near Times Square and Jacob Javits Center after... a night out or conventions, this is no longer the same taste, quality, nor experience. The curry is no longer extremelyflavorful and thick, the chicken Katsu is no longer lightly crunchy and moist, and the rice is no longer cooked to the perfectlevel of al dente. In fact, the curry there is water down and bland in comparison, the chicken Katsu is thinly cut, stalecrunchy, and a bit dry, and the rice is slightly overcooked to the point where it is sticking together in clumps and you can seehow overcooked the rice is by looking at each grain. It is extremely sad for me too write this review, because it truly was agem in the midst of many mediocre competitors located in a very unlikely, but convenient, location. Read more

We were surprised at how small the location was. Nonetheless we had a good curry meal. The curry was seasoned well and the... chicken katsu was super crispy. I also liked the raw cabbage a lot. Oh and the Yuzu soda was great. Read more

First time having gogo curry I've had curry in japan when I was 18 and this is the closest thing you will get to over there,... authentic flavors and fresh ingredients, the curry is thick and flavorful , the chicken katsu was fresh crispy and juicy, andthe shredded cabbage was nice and refreshing, just not super cheap I got a medium chicken katsu and soda and it came out toabout 20$ , still worth checking out if your by times Square. The chicken katsu curry was delicious. I can tell that the curry sauce was prepared with a lot time giving it a deep taste. The... curry dishes are little pricy but worth it ???? Read more

Got the tofu katsu with veggie curry delivered. It was good overall, I just wish the tofu was crispier. Maybe it if was cut... thinner into smaller pieces. The shredded cheese was also strange to have on the side, on top would be better. Spice level wasgood. Thought it was a little light on curry and protein. Read more

Been going here for years, it's not the cheapest thing but it's certainly not expensive. Tasty and filling. Sometimes depending... on who is working the curry can be a little on the salty side but other than that it's a good, cozy, flavorful curry. Even onits own over rice without toppings of you are avoiding fried food. Just know this is a pork based curry (not much pork flavorthough) Personally favor the chicken katsu topping, shrimp and sausage are also good. The Go-go pack is totally worth it if youaren't nearby, easy it as served with rice, various noodles, cauliflower rice or try whatever. We usually get drinks at the shoparound the corner though. The employees are always wonderful and work hard, sometimes only one person doing everything so tipif you can. Read more

Definitely one of my Top go to Dinner places. I usually get a Large Pork Katsu with extra pork which comes up to about... $18.....without the extra pork....it's around $15. katsu, also known as panko Pork is a Japanese dish of fried pork made withpanko bread crumbs. So it's breaded pork fried and topped with Japanese curry. It is delicious and a must try I would say ifyour in the area. Read more

The place is nothing fancy and the price is cheap, but the food was awesome. Their Japanese curry tasted great and hot,... especially the katsu curry. We have had them many times so far and never felt disappointed with our meals here. They alsodelivery to our house at Kips Bay Area, so that is another great plus. Read more
