I went to Flame Hibachi for my birthday, it became a memorable night for all the wrong reasons. I called on Wednesday because I... wanted to make a reservation ahead of time, I don?t know who picked up the phone that day but I was informed that I didn?t needone. I went yesterday, only to be told that I -did- need a reservation as the tables inside were packed. But seeing how upset Iwas, the host tried to offer me a table for a previous party about to leave. I said alright, and they directed me to the bar towait until they left. My husband noticed that the table was quickly replaced with a party of white people who hurriedly took it.Confused, we asked the host who made up this story that ?They were waiting before you.? When it was an obvious lie, as they onlyarrived AFTER we did. I grew more upset and the host tried to give us ANOTHER table, this time in the back of the restaurant. Iinitially thought it was an empty table beside me but the host, rudely responds that ?Oh no that?s for an incoming party WITH areservation.? The table he directed me to was not only tiny but in such a narrow corner that me and those with me would bebumped into repeatedly. I became so overwhelmed that I had to leave, this felt racially motivated seeing how every time I triedto speak up to this host I was brushed off or looked over due to my skin for someone with a much more lighter complexion. The absolute best. Well worth the money and time to visit. Great atmosphere and the chef?s only add to the amazing vibe. The... food is cooked right in front of you and they even do tricks with the food. Would highly recommend if you are in the area with agroup of friends. Read more
Nice hibachi place for Manhattan with a bar downstairs and a couple hibachi tables upstairs. Tables generally fit 10 so it?s a... great place for a bigger group. All the protein was tasty and fresh though the fried rice was just okay. Chefs were fun andjoyful. Read more
This place is amazing! It?s a hidden Gem I had no clue about. They didn?t ask for proof of vaccination nor mandate masks to be... worn. I believe New York City has raised the levy on that. The price is definitely cheaper here than BENIHANA. I love therustic decor, exclusive feel & vibe. Our chef was funny, charismatic, proactive & fun. I love how he made us interact with himusing his Saki drink trick & shaping food into hearts. This is a great dining experience. Our food was fresh, hot &delicious.
