If the prices come off as expensive, it's because the food is well worth the cost, both in quantity and quality. I ordered from... the prix-fixe lunch menu (3 courses for $29 pre-tax pre-tip) and had grilled calamari, Greek-style feta salad, grilled salmonwith tomatoes and capers over rice pilaf, and a cheesecake. The grilled calamari was below average (doughy, no flavor). However, the feta salad, reminiscent of salads I had in Patras, was fantastic - a solid block of feta over fresh cucumbers,tomatoes, onions, peppers, and pitted olives drenched in a very high quality olive oil with parsley (where you can taste theolives)! The grilled salmon was no less exquisite. Large cut, charred on the outside, tender on the inside, decked in dicedsour tomatoes with capers and an aromatic rice pilaf on the side. I only regret that I ate this too quickly and barely hadenough space for the thick, mildly sweetened cheesecake at the closer. The interior is also worth a special mention - there isa unique bar and greenhouse venue with excellent atmosphere, which was the cherry on top of my visit. Overall a very solidchoice that lives up to its pricy asks, out-benching even the gold standards of Greek food in Manhattan (think Greek Taverna,Nerai, Estiatorio Milos, etc.). Came here late at night because I have a weekly martial arts lesson nearby and found this place on restaurant.com. I was a... little worried given the current mediocre rating but am very glad I ended up trying it! We asked the waiter what the mostpopular dish was, and what dish people don't order as often as they should. He recommended the Lavraki (Branzino) and Ribeyesteak respectively. Both were excellent, as was the Horiatiki salad we started with; the tomatoes were good, which is always agood sign that one doesn't have to be careful about what to order. I decided to leave a five star review for Ethos because I saw there was only 1 review and it was only 1 star and I would not... want anyone to think the restaurant is worthy of only 1 Star. The 1 Star review was totally inaccurate and unfair. Even if it?strue that the delivery man did not take the food to the apartment, (completely understandable during a pandemic) why would theentire restaurant be blamed...I have lived in the neighborhood for 6 years, I have eaten at ethos even before I moved to MurrayHill. The food quality, service, ambience has been consistently great throughout the years...I have never had bad food when I?veeaten in or taken out. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I ordered off seamless. When the food was over 30 minutes late, I called the... restaurant and was told the food was sitting with my doorman. Confused, I went down to my doorman who told me, ?the delivery mancame in and threw the food on the floor and refused to take it up to the apartment.? The food had no name, address or receipt,so my doorman told the delivery man he couldn?t leave it. The delivery man said he was furious because he had to travel over 20blocks to make the delivery (although my apartment was in range of the restaurant on Seamless). My doorman was apologetic asthe food sat cold for 25 minutes in the lobby as there was no name/apt number on it. When I got it from him, he was shakenbecause he was berated by the delivery man who essentially threw the food at him. I will absolutely never order from this placeagain. The food was terrible and the experience was unlike anything I have ever dealt with. When I called the restaurant to tellthem about my experience, wondering if the delivery man was just being hostile, the owner of the restaurant berated me and saidI was ?stupid for ordering from a restaurant 20 blocks away from my apartment?. I?ve order from this place couple of times before, their bifteki pita sandwich which was always fine. This time I order grilled... salmon which was horrible totally burned and spanakorizo ( spinach rice which was tasty but full of sand because the spinachthey used wasn?t washed well it wasn?t washed at all it?s not pleasant eating sand! I won?t ever order from them again, theysend me a piece of galatobureko (complimentary) which was also burned on the sides! Thanks but no thanks! Read more
