Fantastic dinner! We had a decent size group so we ordered a lot. Everything we tried was good, but some unexpected surprises... were the melt-in-your-mouth grilled pork jowl and the incredibly refreshing ginger marinated cucumber salad. I also reallyenjoyed the crispy whole fish. Hard to go wrong here! Read more

We had the BEST experience here! Everything was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere is amazing. Sit at the... counter to get the full feel and chat with the chef and staff about your food. Ask for recommendations and ALWAYS use the saucegiven. Every dish is clearly thought through to the nth degree and executed well. The drink menu has been crafted to perfectlycomplement the feel and flavors as well. We had almost half the menu and everything was impeccable. The pork jowl is to die forand the papaya salad was a great refreshing surprise full of texture and flavor. The oysters were the perfect amount of salt andthe roe was a great texture add. You cannot go wrong with dinner here. Even the playlist will get you excited! Read more

The spicy dungeness crab, fried whole fish, baby octopus, and drinks were particularly memorable. My mom was blown away by how... authentic and delicious every dish was. It brought her back in time when she was living in Southeast Asia - the aromas, thedepth of flavor, the freshness of every single seafood dish - we savored every bite. Thank you for the wonderful mother's dayevening. Read more

The food here is AMAZING!! We stopped in by chance when our usual Essex Market restaurant had already closed for the night, and... the food here was excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious, the chef does an amazing job, and the kitchen and staff wereextremely accommodating for various food allergies. Everything is served family style, the food comes out quickly as the chefprepares each dish, and it's just an awesome experience! I highly recommend stopping by!! Read more

Saw the eater video feature on the founder of this place and had it on my list to visit this trip. I think it's the best meal... I've had. Admittedly I was only able to try a few things but everything was full of flavour and very fresh. The oysters weregreat but in hindsight I should have got something else cooked to try something more different from the norm. I had the friedsquid and the Indonesian chicken wings. Both had tons of flavor. The fried squid had an awesome curry sauce to dip in that had anice kick to it, and the wings had the level of flavoring depth I haven't had in a long time, certainly not outside ofAsia. Amazing and would highly recommend to others. I sat at the counter and was able to watch the chef and team assemble thefood. Loved the vibe of the guys and really hoping they continue to be successful! Read more

What could of been a terrible experience turned into the best ever. I booked tickets for my daughter and i to see a movie at... Regal. The night before i was digging into which places are around to eat at. Of course i knew Essex Market and The Market Lineare right next door so there are so many options. I ran across Essex Pearl and instantly decided to wanted to try it. I assumedthe vibe would be similar to "The Delancey" which is on the opposite end. Its a bar/restaurant vibe. Essex Pearl is not that. There is a beautiful bar thats attached on the right but it wasn't opened. There was one gentleman by the register. He seemedreally busy but stopped immediately when i gained his attention. I asked for 12 oysters. They were all priced at $2 each. Therewas one that was $3. I opted to get 12 of the $2, ones. There was 4 types so i got three of each. The gentleman at the counterwas nice but i was slowly losing my patience because everything was moving so slow. He bagged the Oysters and didnt ask if Iwanted them shucked or anything. Weird right? Either way, i asked if they could be opened. He said "yes" but with somehesitancy. He also looked a little annoyed about it. I was worried that he didnt know how to open them or something. Thankfullythat wasn't the case. It took a little while but he got them all opened and quite perfectly too. Things got weird when it wastime to ring me up. I was charged $30, i guess he decided to charge me more then he had to open the oysters. I didn't complain. He did ask me if i wanted cocktail sauce, i said yes. It took him about 5mins of running around and he never came back with it.He gave me lemon slices and napkins. Still forgot the cocktail sauce. He ran around some more looking for it and eventually toldme that they ran out. I was annoyed because i really wanted it. He did offer to get me some if i was okay waiting. I had tostill get my daughter some food and we were on a short time frame since the movie was starting soon. Read more

Saw that this place was new on my maps so I decided to check it out for a quick appetizer before heading to dinner with friends.... Wow what great service! For a huge space with other food vendors this pot pays attention to details and has some really freshseafood. Our waiter really helped me with my order with his suggestions and I feel like their oysters are a steal deal. $2 eastcoast oysters taste way better then the $4 west coast oysters. PS $1 oysters during happy hour. Wish I could have ate from thedinner menu because they had some good fusion options. Thai, middle eastern, and east coast classics that?s what type of dishesyou?ll see on there menu. Read more
