The place is nice in the Spanish style but the tapas are very bad especially the croquette! I am very disappointed in this... place?.and they did not have Spanish Paella, this is serious! basic drinks like sangria were not good and this is terrible fora spanish restaurant!! The only thing I liked was the meat, the rest I give 2 points out of 10! I do not recommend this place! better eat at McDonald before coming here ! sorry but I had to say it! Read more

Every bite was great. Weirdly the salad was my highlight. We just had cocktails and nibbles with dessert after. Great night... out. Read more

Four adult family members gathered in NYC from parts of Canada to celebrate a birthday. Having lived in Spain and a previous... owner and chef of a restaurant there, I was thoroughly disappointed in El Quixote. The hostess had zero personality and neededan attitude check. We, I was told that we must finish by 9:15 as our table was booked. We spent over $400 USD for lack lustreand told to finish by x time. WOW! The sound level made hearing the waiter difficult. The most disappointing part was theproclaimed paella as a poor example of its namesake. For 72$ USD I did not expect minimal seafood on a minimal bed of overdonerice (mostly burnt on the pan bottom). Lacked real Spanish flair, overly priced for the portions served. The best part was apre-celebratory cocktail in a classical Spanish lobby bar of the Chelsea Hotel. No vale la Peña! The menu also needs revisionas red print on beige in minimal lighting just does not work. Back to the drawing board. Joel needs work Read more

The atmosphere in this restaurant is 5/5, very relaxing and the staff was extremely helpful and treated us with respect. The... seats and tables however were a little too small, if you?re a big person it?s a little bit uncomfortable. Now the food; Veryunderwhelming and not worth premium prices of the restaurant. Appetizers; Cheese plate was good Jamon Serrano was good, butextremely salty Main courses; Chicken was dry. Paella had flavor but didn?t taste fresh. Lobster was the best part of thedinner, had flavor, taste and felt like it was kind of worth its price. Desserts; Avoid the desserts, they only had 2 on themenu and both were bad. Read more

At last I finally understand the meaning of fine dining and I owe it all to our experience at El Quijote. As a New Yorker I am... always open to new experiences and this was certainly unprecedented and unique. I ordered the rotisserie chicken which I wasinformed came with no side dish for $32 so I hope that?s fine with you because it is certainly fine with us but let?s not stopthere. In order to emphasize the real meaning of fine dining, let?s bring out four prawns for $24 that you better be fine withpeeling yourself. I hope it?s fine with you guys that you are not getting a side dish with this either. Fine? Good, now let?scommence onto dessert because by this time you should be starving. I hope you like olive oil because your ice cream will beswimming in it. Of course you could buy five Baskin-and-Robbins ice cream cones for what this olive oil laden treat cost and Ican?t even begin to tell you how superior my rotisserie chicken was from Costco for $4.99 eons better than the one I receivedhere but that is not fine dining. You asked for fine dining and this is it. In all fairness this is a beautiful place decor wiseif you?re looking for a nice atmosphere and you?re not going to order any food. Read more

Restaurant has a great interior and a very nice bar. Service is kind and attentive. A few things on the menu we had were not... impressive, maybe because they were short staffed. Paella had rice stuck to the bottom so there was not much of it left to eat.It also was made with rabbit meat. Pasta that was on the menu had a specific taste, not used to it I guess. It was in a soursauce. Rib eye was excellent. Temperanio wine was very good and all the cocktails we had. It was also pricy. Read more

Very good food with service to match. The restaurant has a quirky interior which I really liked. The anchovies were so good, as... was the paella. Would definitely return. Read more
