My delivery was incredibly late (about 1.5 hours) and the restaurant was only a few blocks away. Whoever the delivery guy was,... wouldn?t admit to not doing his job correctly. However , the one saving grace was that the food was actually good. Therestaurant needs better delivery workers. Read more

Good tasting burrito, but extremely small for $15+. Should be around the $9-10 range and they?d probably get more business. ... Cashier was like a block of ice. Would like to try again, but not at those prices for what you get. Read more

come for the tacos, but stay for the burritos. El Gallo Taqueria serves up some tasty Mexican food on the edges of Little Italy.... the small restaurant has a few tables inside and a table outside as well as offering takeout and delivery. the decor is playful.the interior is clean, organized, and brightly lit. basically you order at the register and pick up your food to eat. though thefood isn't slapped together--it takes a little bit of time and that extra time spent shows in those flavorful calories you'll beenjoying. ordered takeout here recently--ordered a taco al pastor as well as a barbacao burrito. the taco was layer upon layerof flavor from the savory chunks of grilled pork, the slaw, onions, cilantro, and pineapple (i think)--so good. the folks herepacked some medium hot sauce which i generously poured on for some spicy kick and let me tell you it was great. definitely wouldrecommend the tacos which are not tiny, here. $4 + tax + tip El Gallo's barbacao burrito is hands-down delicious. the barbacaois slow-cooked beef that is super tender and packed with flavor. the burrito is an ample size and generous in terms of fillings.it is stuffed with rice, beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, guacamole, crema, and cheese. the slow-cooked beef and all the otheringredients meld together and create this fantastic mix of flavors and textures. the ingredients taste super fresh and thatmakes a real difference in the end product. i ordered the "baby" burrito which is made in a 10" flour tortilla and that size wasperfect for one person. definitely an all-in-one-meal anyone to devour. $8 + tax + tip the staff is friendly and helpful--i hada couple of q's which were answered quickly. my takout order was packed nicely and neatly. tip them Read more

Small little gem in the middle of the lower east side. As soon as you walk in you know it?s an authentic Mexican place as the... cumbia sonidero music plays in the kitchen. When you hear cumbia or Don Chente playing you know the food is going to be????. We all know the LES is full of bars and dives but this little place amongst all the expensive meals and fancy drinks istruly a great find. $12 for enchiladas with a well balanced plate of rice and beans. Yes the portions are small but theenchiladas were Delicious!!! Aside from your normal sodas and jarritos I love that they offer aguas frescas: horchata, tamarindo, and more. I hear they have a location in Brooklyn. Will be checking that place out. Shoutout to the man running thecounter as he was balancing the phones and the customers. Find out for yourself and try their delicious enchiladas. Read more

I?ve ordered from this place/location (369 Broome St.) on numerous occasions, and loved their food. Today I saw they were having... a promotion of buy one get one free, but I got what seemed to be, buy one and have it split in two separate containers! When Icalled I was told that the manager couldn?t assist as they have changed their portion sizes due to complaints of inconsistentservings! The irony of that statement is that my ?TWO burrito bowls? each lacked something. One bowl had practically NO chickenwhile the other had NO beans! What I got was rice, bean sauce and guacasalsa in one and a toddler portion of chicken, rice andbeans in the other. As you can imagine, ONE burrito split in half served in two containers. Two inconsistent toddler portions! That?s what I received! (Note: if you?re going to down size on portions you also need to keep up with the presentation meaningthe package; smaller containers; prices!) Read more

update - this review should be for their Bensonhurst location. When I?m in LES and craving Mexican I?d certainly give their... Nolita location a try as well. Also I?ve tried every sauce and their sauce really shines. From mild to extra spicy they are alldelicious and unique. *** Fast casual Mexican place that has tacos, burritos and tortas. I got tacos and the torta withvarious meat fillings in each. I got the campechano torta which comes with steak, chorizo and Chicharron. It?ll fill you up asany proper torta/cemita should. Note that the chicharron are the chips version and not fried pork meat. Got the mild greensalsa which was fresh and tasty. Read more
