Thanks for ruining our anniversary. My partner made a reservation two weeks ago to celebrate our anniversary. It?s restaurant... week and we love trying new places and experiences. It?s 90 degrees outside so my boyfriend wore a collared short and shorts andI wore a dress. Upon walking in we were instantly stopped by a security guard who told my boyfriend he was wearing shorts andthe restaurant host would turn us away. The restaurant host then proceeded to tell us we should of looked at the website to seethere is a dress code (I booked through google reservations and someone called to confirm and never ONCE mentioned a dresscode). Dowlings is lovely and my dining experience was wonderful. The food was creative and delicious and the service is unmatched. I... just started a new job in the neighborhood so all of the Carlyle restaurants are going to quickly become regular spots for me.Dowlings is also perfect for special occasions. The decor is interesting and you can just feel the history of the building.Everyone who waited on us was super attentive and accommodating. The next time someone visits me from out of town I willdefinitely be taking them to Dowlings for a guaranteed exquisite meal! Read more
