Classy lunch service with world class buffet (or order from a menu) in White table cloth space overlooking panoramic view of the... East River. There is a dress code. Superb, attentive yet unobtrusive, service. Must make advance registration and go throughsecurity check. Allow additional time. The dining room may get closed to visitors during special UN events oremergencies. Additional space around the dining room may be reserved for large groups or events for lunch or othergatherings. During General Assembly, many special events are held here which close it to visitors. Extra effort to make it hereat least once is worth it. Read more
It's restricted zone. Employees and those with proper ID card issued by UN organisation are can enter into inside the premises.... Superb architecture and paintings can see inside. Food at affordable price available. We have to according to item and it'sweight. I beside Hudson river. We can enjoy river side view. It's very nice see most of the city's skyline buildings. My husband and I went there last week for lunch. First, the beautiful dining room was not available that day so we were ushered... into some awful replacement room with no view period. The food was mediocre at best. The pasta Fagioli soup was disgraceful.The cous cous accompanying the rack of lamb was not hot and the dessert of fruit and cheese arrived with a small bowl of nutswhich were old and tasteless. Oh well. If you read this review think twice before going for a very expensive and not goodexperience. Read more
Worth going to once if you have the chance. After that go to a real restaurant.
Great place to connect at the UN if you know anyone there. Security is kinda tight, considering it's the UN. Drinks are fairly... bad. Food too, but the space is gorgeous. The UN is full of artifacts from around the world. They're mostly gifts from membercountries and they kind of give the place its historic vibe. The UN itself is rather young, but there's a thousand years ofculture in it. Read more
The experience overall seemed unprofessional and haphazard. We were first escorted to the security office across the street... where the attendants took our picture and copied our IDs. They gave us sticker name tags to wear inside the UN, and got both ofour names wrong, despite the fact that had our IDs. At the end of the visit they berated my friend for taking a name tag thatdidn't have her name on it. That's your incompetence problem, not ours. The Delegates Dining room is unadorned and looks a bitlike a wedding reception room, despite the fact that the rest of the UN that I've seen is beautiful. The food was okay, thedessert was definitely the highlight of the meal. It is a buffet style meal, so I guess you could say you can get your moneysworth if you want to eat a ton of food. Our server refused to take a photo of us when I asked, saying it was against the rules,but later we asked another server, who took it. I don't really understand their policy on photo taking, Overall the servers werevery informal and were joking around with each other. We were hoping to meet people at the UN who were actually excited to bethere and were proud of working for the UN. The only person who really fit the bill was our guide to and from the DelegatesDining Room. But when we were waiting for him to escort us back from the lunch, he took too long, like 10 minutes, and asecurity officer escorted us the rest of the way. Read more
Was there for the reopening, they said that it was just remodeled and I did not see it before, but it still looks old. Plain... walls and stucco ceilings. The outside porch has some of the most gorgeous views I have seen. It's a nice open space withseating but the inside space is just plain. Instead of a solid glass window looking over the porch and it's great view, it'sbroken up by window frames and doors. Should have just been one piece and they would have had a beautiful panoramic view and amodern look. The food served was very good but it was a sample service and I could not taste the full menu. Such an amazing experience! Dining here for lunch was a highlight of our visit to New York. The views are spectacular and the... location within the United Nations is very, very cool. Read more
