Reviews for Crossroads in New York, NY
The customer service here needs some major work. I know people say New Yorkers aren't friendly and it's not personal, but this... is a restaurant in a pretty high-end hotel. The workers should act like it. The woman who seats people for breakfast alwayslooks irritated and is so rude. When you are accidentally in someone's way, the other workers will tell you extremely unkindlyto stop being in the way. Better language and attitude could really go a long way. Clearly this hotel didn't provide an adequatecustomer service training, if at all. Read more
Affordable enough....food however lacked taste. I ordered the spicy buttermilk chicken sandwich, it had absolutely no flavor!... Not even the spicy mayo they put on it to make it the spicy chicken had flavor. The only thing with substance was theircoleslaw, which is surprising because people usually mess that up. My partner had the bacon cheeseburger; honestly would havebeen better off going to any basic burger shop. It's convienant if you're in the hotel and don't want to leave. But other thanthat,I wouldn't go out of my way for this place. Read more
I recently stumbled upon the Crossroads buffet offering while visiting the Marriot. I found the buffet to be a great value for... the overall selection of freshly prepared buffet items. I have taken a star away because the employees seemed to be completelyoverwhelmed while the seating hadn't even reached 50% occupancy. Delays on bringing water, coffee or a check to a table ofcustomers who opted for the buffet is inexcusable. I will probably return because the buffet was that good. Hopefully servicewill also rise to the occasion. Read more
The food was very good and well prepared. My mother got the breakfast buffet and I got the Country Fare. It was very good.... However service very poor. The server knew she had provided terrible service and apologized at the end of the meal. We went 30minutes without drink and even after I got my food I still had no drink. Read more
This restaurant is located in the Marriott Marquis, which is where we stayed. We visited for the breakfast buffet one morning... ($36 per person). The buffet included juices and omelets to order. That made the buffet a better value than simply ordering offthe menu. The was a large selection of things to choose from and we were in and out in no time. We also attempted to have dinnerin the restaurant one night, but were disappointed in the lack of choices to order from. We ended up leaving to eat someplaceelse. Read more
Nice place for a drink before the theatre We stopped here for a martini before going to the theater in the same hotel to see... Evita. While we could easily skip seeing that play again we definitely enjoyed this bar. We ate snacks here last year but theyhave re-designed it and its much prettier now. The staff is wonderful and friendly. Word of warning - not cheap but not superexpensive either. A martini is over $14.50. Read more
I was attending a conference at the Marriott and there was little time to run out for food in the morning. Therefore, I ate at... Crossroads. The food is at best OK but the prices.... Well, you can get a nice lunch with a glass of wine at a nice bistro downthe street for what eggs cost here. The staff is super nice, though. Read more
Staff very helpful and friendly. They knew in advance that a large party was expected and they did their best to seat everyone... together. I was a little disappointed with the buffet. It was not like anything I saw on their website. Just one short row offood and desserts, however, the food was tasty! So many people....a beautiful hotel ! Read more
