One of the original soba spots in NYC. Even though they moved locations, it has retained its quality. For an appetizer, we got... the gyoza. The filling was good but the skirt should have been crispy. Instead, it came out rather soggy. We got the mera meradipping and the kashiwa soba. They were both quality dishes although i wish i got more noodles with my mera mera soba. The meramera dipping comes out with a sterno underneath which heats it up great throughout the meal. Just be careful as it is not liketsukemen where you dip and eat out of the bowl. It has a strong sesame flavor but mellows as you eat it. I loved that they giveyou soup to add as I ended up drinking the soup well after i finished my noodles. Read more

Expansive menu and tasty options for soba, hot or cold. We arrived shortly after opening on Sunday evening and got seated... immediately. The tables filled up after half an hour. The cold soba was my favorite. You can moderate how much sauce to mix.All the different textures elevated the dish. The hot soba was good as well but didn't seem as unique as the coldversion. Bring cash! Read more

This is not a reflection on the quality of the food, but treatment by the staff. I ordered the food online prior to picking up... the food. For this review, keep in mind I looked like a delivery guy today in my poncho, helmet and PEV. I know this because alady from own building mistook me for the delivery guy as well. Onto the review. I received a note my food would be availablefor pickup at 12:16. I got there at 12:16 on the dot. My food was not ready, and that's ok. I grew up in the restaurant industryso I know how it can be. They told me five more minutes and I waited. 10 minutes, past, "5 more minutes" 20 minutes past. "2more minutes" 30 minutes past, "2 more minutes" It wasn't till I showed them my email that said the food would be ready at12:16 and that I am the actual customer that they started cooking the food. I indicate all of this, because it gives me theimpression they don't really respect the time of the delivery workers who helped keep the mom and pops alive during thepandemic. That's not cool, every minute they wait on food that is not ready at a proper time is money out of theirpockets. Like anyone else reading, they're just trying to make a living.I hope other restaurants aren't like this. Attached isa photo of my rain gear for reference. Read more

Service: We were seated and waited ten minutes for the menu, I guess they were busy with other stuff, but not impressed by their... service. Food: I really enjoyed my warm stamina soba, light but flavourful. My gf's dip soba was a bit salty but after weadded more broth it progressed huge. The only thing I could complain about was the portion size, we ordered S but we recommendto order L if you don't want to order extra food. Read more

Mera Mera Dip Soba was rich, salty, spicy, and creamy. Delicious pairing with fresh soba noodle. Would recommend adding extra... veg and pickled if available. Certainly a unique gem in the midst of New York's endless food scene. Tasty and fun experience I'dbe happy to enjoy each visit to NY. Cash only! Returned to try the clear broth and the warm koma soba didn't disappoint. It wasdeliciously refreshing on a warm day. The hints of yuzu are perfection and the dish was quintessentially simple yet complexflavored Japanese style Read more

So friggin good! I'm Japanese and I felt like I was taken back to Tokyo to an authentic sobaya-san. Everything was delicious and... the staff were attentive and friendly. It's very affordable and all their apps are shareable. If you're looking for a goodJapanese noodle place, this is it! The only thing is, they are cash only so make sure you have some on you. If not, that's okaytoo they have an ATM inside. Read more

Cocoron is a cute japanese market. They had a variety of food on the menu. We ordered the kara miso ramen and spicy pork and... kimchi dipped soba. Both were yummy, but i definitely preferred the dipped soba. The bacon wrapped mushrooms were alright, but alittle salty. The kara age was the weakest of their offerings. The crush was soggy and oily. Overall, a very pleasant experienceand i would come back to try other items on their menu. Read more
