It was incredibly difficult for me to make a choice of what to get because everything sounded amazing! I'm still dreaming about... those pan fried potato dumplings. The tofu and vegetable curry with bean thread noodles was phenomenal as was a crispy noodledish we also got. Beautiful flavors and hearty portions at great prices. Read more
This place serves really delicious food! The chicken momo was so juicy and filled with flavor, and Thai iced coffee was a great... refreshing and awakening drink in the summer day! Very reasonably priced and filling for lunch or dinner, the outdoor seating isnice and shaded too! Read more
Tibetan restaurant in lower east side specializing in Indo-Chinese-style cuisine. They have momos, curries, noodles, etc. We got... five different dishes and split them family style (see photos). Everything was GAS. This place is the real deal/super authentic.The prices were amazing considering this is a sit-down restaurant at NYC and lower east side neighborhood. They give a 4%discount for cash so bring some unless your card gives you 5% cashback. My favorites were the noodles and the curry, but youhonestly can?t go wrong with whatever you order. This quaint unassuming storefront with a slightly dilapidated look right off Houston would be easy to miss. But don't! The... simplicity of this place is that it goes for good food. Under the harsh florescent lights and creaky chairs, you'll be serveddelicious fare at an affordable price ($10-15/ dish). Not quite the same as venturing into the outer boroughs but perhaps thenext best thing in the city. We were offered a sampler of the Momos while our server saw us deliberating which one to try. Allof them were phenomenal but if I only could pick one it would be the chicken ? it offered the richest punch of flavor. There isalso a 4% discount if paying with cash. Definitely would go back. I had great time at Cafe Himalaya. A couple of friends and I met up to hang out because we haven't in a while. The food is... great, flavorful and tasty. Definitely will come back and try some other entree's. Even the wine was good and overall not veryexpensive, which is always a good thing. The place is small and outside seating consist of table of four. However they can fitanother table outside if needed. So enjoy and you can actually have and hear your conversation ??. Read more
We randomly stumbled upon it and I'm so glad we did! Everything they provided us was absolutely scrumptious. Everything was... sharing style which I love and everything came out very quickly. We sat outside on a warm breezy day so that made things evenbetter. Our waiter was helpful with the menu and her recommendations were spot on too. I really love this place and the people that serve me food here even though they don?t talk to me much? I come here often when... it?s raining, cold, or when I feel upset. Their curry is addictive - and somehow I want to have it even when I have almost noappetite because I?m feeling sick, etc. The food here and the ?hole in the wall? atmosphere almost always make me feel better ifI am having a bad day. The only tip I have for you is to not order the avocado salad and the curry together because the saladis basically the cold version of the curry, just with avocado pieces on top. Oh, and get the dumplings steamed, not fried,because you will feel healthier that way and I?ve tried the fried version and realized that the fried ones taste only about 10%better at the expense of being 50% worse for your health.
