The food is good. The service is very slow. Be very careful ordering specials that aren't on the menu. Ask for the price before... placing your order. We expected prices to be more or less similar to those on the menu. Instead they changed $48 for a smallleafy salad and $56 for porcini pasta, that is almost twice as much as a similar item on the menu. I forgot to mention that itwas lunch, for which we paid $213 ordered 2 glasses of wine, one salad and one pasta Read more

Amazing food, beautiful presented and well served. I highly recommend it. Not great for price conscious diners on a limited... budget but worth every penny for those who can afford it. Read more

We stumbled across this restaurant looking only to have a mid afternoon coffee and pastry but after seeing the menu along w the... staff sharing their daily specials, we knew we had to have a ?light snack? ? fritto di mare, king crab risotto, complimentarysoup and pastry bites were all bursting with incredible flavors; crab cakes have the best flavor award amongst the fritto dimare???????? The service was also very memorable, as our waiter saw my husband had a couple bites of risotto left and topped offjust a sip of wine to complete his meal. Thank you so much for a wonderful dining experience:) Read more

Simply put. - the perfect culinary art. This restaurant stands out on its own. The food is prepared with love and attention to... detail. The service is personal but allows for privacy. This is a chef-owned establishment. Typically in these situations theowner-chef is most likely an overseer/administrator in the kitchen. Here. At AVENA UES, I can tell the chef?s hands arepersonally and directly involved in the preparation of the food. The truffles are overflowing in the truffle designated disheswhich is great to see. The truffles are actual shavings and have a dominant presence in the dish. This alone was somethingeven the most distinguished restaurants miss the mark on. My only regret is the chef does not have time to tour the restaurantand meet his guests. With that said, the Maitre de maison is excellent and fills in just perfectly with his warmth, charm andattentiveness from the moment we walked in to the end. Do not miss this place! Read more

Outstanding dinner menu and impeccable service. Fresh seafood is wonderful. Try the scallop appetizer with truffles. Everything... including deserts, ice cream, breads, and pasta are made from scratch by the chef. The flour is Italian and oh so light. Also, not sure why but Google Maps shows this place on 5th Ave, but it is not. It is on 66 St and Madison! Read more

This Italian spot is incredible! Great for a group and/or special occasion. We went for a birthday luncheon, and the entire... group loved their meal. We enjoyed the truffle risotto and many pastas. We also enjoyed a squash soup that was sent from thekitchen. Several in the group were vegetarian, and nobody was disappointed with their meal. The outdoor dining setup was nice, and the location on 66th St was quiet for NYC standards. We loved every bite! Definitely recommend saving room for dessert aswell. Read more
