Very mediocre. Ordered take out. The beef in MALA Tang has gone stale and has an obvious refrigerator smell, meaning it?s... definitely not fresh and god knows how long they?ve been storing the meat in the fridge. Also it does not taste authentic. Won?trecommend. There?s a reason why they have very few customers in store during dinner hour on Weekends. Read more

Such good food. Really authentic northern Chinese style cooking. Everything I ordered was delicious in a home kitchen kind of... way - not too greasy, doesn?t make your mouth dry after eating, but just crazy delicious. Highly recommended and will comeagain! Read more

I've lived around the corner from this restaurant for a long time, and only have several years did I decide to try it. I wish I... tried it sooner! The restaurant is very clean and nice, and the service is excellent (the waiter and waitress were both veryattentive and friendly, and the waiter gave us some great recommendations. All the staff speak English.). It is expensive incomparison to other Chinese restaurants, but I was happy to pay because the portion sizes were large and the quality was topnotch. They also had some interesting dishes, like glazed sweet potatoes for dessert (really good). Been thinking about it sincemy last visit! Read more

Recommendation: Pork w. Pickled Cabbage ??? Must-try: Pork Stew W. Pork Belly & Blood ??? at Flushing site. They have a site... near Flushing as well. Personally the salty level of this site is better than the site near Flushing. The size of the dishesare smaller and the price is more expansive (which is understandable as it locates in Manhattan). They provide similar menu butthe taste actually differs a bit. 1. For Pork w. Pickled Cabbage, they do not have blood sausage compare to the Pork Stew W.Pork Belly & Blood at the other site, although they share the same Chinese name ??? for this dish. 2. This site does not providebraised pork hock with brown sauce ???. I regret it. 3. The crispy pork in sweet and sour sauce ??? has the flavor of ginger, which is rare. The meat inside is also flatter and thinner. In all, I like the dishes from Northeast China and that is why Icome here after visiting the site near Flushing. My friend from Northeast China prefer the Flushing site. I prefer the size andquantity there at Flushing but the salt level here at Manhattan. If I have to choose, I will visit the site near Flushing andask for less salt. Read more

Some of the MOST LEGIT Northern Chinese food outside of China! My spouse grew up in Beijing and I lived there a few years and... for us, Auntie Guan's is absolute gold. I noticed a trend with many of the negative reviews of this place - they seem to comefrom folks who are clueless about Northern food and order silly stuff like shrimp + broccoli or orange chicken. Don't order yourfamiliar takeout grub! (Also note that many good reviews come from those with Chinese surnames - this speaks to theauthenticity here.) Here are some of the best Northern-style dishes to order here: - Spinach and peanut appetizer - Cucumbercountry style - Noodle w minced pork and cucumber (zha jiang mian) - Braised ribs noodle soup - Dumplings (esp. leek/shrimp/porkand pork/celery) - Sauteed pork w sweet bean sauce (jing jiang rou si) - Sauteed pork, egg, wood ear mushroom (real moo shu) -Braised meatball - Fried lamb ribs (might be called lamb chop) - Tofu homestyle - Sauteed potato, pepper, eggplant (dis anxian) - Sauteed string bean - Eggplant w garlic sauce - Dry stir-fried tea tree mushroom - All in one pot (a rustic Northernmeat-veg feast!) - Pork w pickled cabbage - Griddle cooked organic cauliflower - Griddle cooked sliced potato - Sugar glazedsweet potato (move fast and dip them in the water!) - Pumpkin "mochi" Last, dine in if you can! The food is great fortakeout/delivery, but you can't beat the perfection of eating each dish as soon as it's ready. Makes a huge difference. Read more

We only had dumplings and hot and sour soup - the hot and sour soup was good, but not outstanding. The dumplings were incredibly... great! I think they were priced reasonably and I was extremely surprised at how good they were. Usually my daughter will onlyeat 1, maybe 2. She ate three and then wanted more! The service was very good - the waitress was there when we needed help anddidn't bother us when we didn't. Everything was very clean - especially the fish tanks. The food came quickly and the totalprice was very reasonable. There were a number of items I would have liked to try but we were just having a quick snack betweenlunch and dinner! Will definitely go back next time we're in the area. Read more
