One of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat in Block Island is The National Hotel. I really enjoy sitting at the front bar... overlooking all the action in town, not to mention the beautiful views of the water from the upper deck. You always have a coolbreeze which makes it much easier to enjoy the summer heat. The staff is always super friendly, I mean where can you find abetter place to work? This is an ideal spot if your waiting for friends to arrive on the Block Island Ferry or if your waitingto depart from the island. Next time your on Block Island, The National Hotel should be on your list of places to visit. Read more

The best Porch on Block Island! Although we've never stayed at The National, we have been guests frequently over the past 30yrs... on their expansive Porch and back lawn when taking in the island vibe to recharge ourselves. The Burgers and other menuappetizers are great and their drink selections limitless and tasty on a warm day. Waitstaff is helpful, very studious andattentive. Permanent Fans! Read more
Just average it’s way overpriced for the quality of food!! Couldn’t even enjoy a decent steak the way I want i wanted it... cooked without the burnt taste!! JUST AVERAGE THEY HAVE YOU BY THE BALLS WHEN YOU WALK IN YOUR AT THERE MERCY!! I GUESS THEY ARETRYING TO MAKE UP FOR LOST TIME!! ID GO ELSE WHERE IF YOU WANT A DECENT MEAL!! Read more
This was our second year coming to Block Island and our first staying at The National. We had a good first impression though our... room was on the small side. The first night the AC stopped working properly. In the morning we sent to the desk and the customerservice we received was incredible. From start to finish Julie, the manager, and Cindy did everything they could to improve ourstay. They switched us to a new room and gave us a voucher for brunch and we had an incredible time. I would highly recommend astay here. The staff was amazing and welcoming and made our experience on Block Island a success! Read more
I did not stay here so I cannot rate the rooms. I did spend a few hours on a Saturday night with a couple of friends here. They... have a nice size bar and eating area inside. They have outdoor seating on the wrap around deck and they have fire pits on theoutside. Great service and a really nice atmosphere. I would actually think about staying here next time I go to block Island. Read more
Didn't stay here so can't speak of the quality of the rooms but we did get lunch out front. Food was very good but it is always... busy. We were there in the off season and every other restaurant was dead but this place was always busy any time of the day. Wedidn't have to wait for a table but it did take an usual amount of time to get our food. Read more
