My family group of five looked forward to dinner the Parish. Two problems turned the excitement into total disappointment. One... could not be controlled by the restaurant as the tie dye store across the street blared loud, annoying music the entire time wewere there for no apparent reason. The second problem would have never existed if ownership had simply been upfront and honestwith us. To make a long story short, The Parish has major problems with insufficient staff and kitchen space to serve food tocustomers in any timely manner. It took 90 minutes to get our dinners. We were told by 4 different staff members that the foodwould be out shortly. Apparently this is the standard line they give you. It has nothing to do with reality. I give credit tothe staff for their apologies, free drinks and the true explanation of the problems they have when it gets busy. But theexperience really turned us off to the Parish and we will never return. Read more

Would give zero stars if that were an option. A lot of strange stares and minimal interaction with staff maybe because we're... brown? Not sure but was a totally uncomfortable experience to put it nicely sat there for over an hour and just got stared atthe whole time. Can't even rate the food because it never came out. Wasted over an hour of my families life we can never getback. Total waste of time and such a poorly managed establishment. Had potential but total disappointment and epic FAIL.Overall an absolutely brutal dining experience. I don't like leaving negative reviews for small businesses but todaysexperience had to be let known. Read more

Excellent small restaurant with superb New Orleans-style food, a friendly, attentive wait staff, and great view of the... Shawangunk Mountains from the deck. The jambalaya with shrimp was rich and spicy - the best I?ve ever tasted. My companion?sroasted trout with pilaf was moist and savory, while our friend?s mushroom etoufee was memorably delicious. The key lime pie wetried for dessert (made in house) was positively sublime. The Parish?s bar offers a great selection of wines, beer and creativecocktails. I look forward to returning! Read more

Me and my roommates and a couple friends wanted to grab a bite to eat in new paltz but we wanted to try a spot we haven?t had... before, we found this little spot right behind water street market. The spot seemed very relaxed but really nice, welcomingfeeling. We got the gator bites, Cajun wings, and crab cake as sone starters and everything was absolutely delicious, the wingshad a great flavor with sone heat, and the gator bites tasted like spicy chicken, the hanger steak was so good, excellent colorand flavor, cake with a truffle sauce that truly made it all come together, the waitress was fantastic very helpful definitelylooking forward to going back. Tucked away upstairs on the second floor is a jewel of a restaurant. Great service, fresh delicious and well presented,... reasonable prices. Cocktails were fantastic and imaginative. Not too hot, or overspiced, with options for vegans and meateaters as well. Indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the halibut special... Perfectly cooked fish over asparagus andblackened baby potatoes topped with frizzled garlic scrapes, side of blackened string beans. Don't miss this wonderful placefor a great meal. Gator bites!... Po' boys! Great New Orleans food!!! Read more

Although I'm not big enthusiast of fried food, I... really like this place, my favorite is buffalo cauliflower and fried okra. When the wheather is nice you can have your lunch ordinner outside with a great view on the Catskill Ridge. Read more
