I visited Wakin Bacon because it was nearby the hotel and on the list of the mileage app I’m currently using. There were... several groups at the door waiting for a table, but as a party of one, I was seated immediately. Hurray! While being taken tomy table, I noticed what a cute and cheerfully decorated place it is. I had previously looked at the menu online and was ableto order immediately, especially since the super efficient server was at my table straightaway. I did notice freshly squeezedorange juice,so ordered that, and I have to say it was rejuvenating, or at least damn refreshing! The Tofu Momma Bowl Iordered didn’t take long to arrive, especially considering how busy the place was that morning. Black beans and Cajun SmashedHash topped with sautéed spinach, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños and “Tofu Momma’s fresh made chili-lemongrass tofu.” I hadasked if the tofu, was spicy; was told it wasn’t, which it wasn’t. The potatoes were a little spicy to me, but I’m fairlysensitive to spicy foods. I‘ve had lots of great breakfasts in New Orleans and the Tofu Momma Bowl with freshly squeezed OJdid not disappoint! The service was excellent and I really appreciate that they open at 7am. Their biscuits are great and everything I've tried here... is good. My favorite is the og bowl which is a good size and very tasty. They brewed me some decaf coffee and I just appreciatethe friendly service of the staff. If you are in the French quarter and want a solid breakfast make sure to stop in and checkthese guys out. In the morning street parking is quite easy to find, but just be aware of the parking zones if you plan to bedown there longer then two hours. Read more

This establishment is "fun". The colors along with the paintings it is inviting and friendly. Also the staff are attentive and... well mannered. The food was prepared and cooked to order. I had the biscuits and gravy with sausage and medium eggs. All cookedto perfection. This HAS to be a must try for everyone looking to get thier mornings started off the right way. The silverwarewas clean and spotless. This restaurant was clean and in order. I must say I am impressed and will be returning. They are openfrom 7am - 2pm. So if you are passing by, I definitely recommend stopping in for a bite to eat. Also on a side note... theprices are very fair compared to other similar restaurants in the general area. Read more

This beautiful plate is a sourdough king, and it is one of the best breads I got in the USA. Trust me, I am a German, I know how... good toast can be... ???? Also the service is great, the prices are very okay and the people are nice and friendly. Read more

Well we stopped in because it was close and had alright reviews. I don't know if the reviewers have taste buds or just being... nice. I had the biscuit n gravy with scrambled eggs and sausage patties. Eggs were cold, biscuits n gravy were room temp andsausage were the only thing hot. Biscuits were soft but seemed to be a bread. Gravy was bland. The madam had a coffee that wasburnt and a cappuccino which had some liquid in it. She had a sourdough sandwich (forgot name) which was soggy. The Cajun hashwere actually good. The service was good. Take care and eat at your taste bud risk. Read more

We were a group of 5 and made reservations for breakfast on open table. When we arrived at WB, we were told they don't take... reservations! Ok, weird. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table . It was well worth the wait. The food was excellent.Highly recommend. I had the breakfast shrimp and grits. Not the usual s&g..it had a light sauce and topped with a poached eggand sourdough bread. Delicious breakfast fare, friendly service in a small, personable neighborhood diner. Pictures of the biscuit with sausage... gravy, served with bacon and eggs. The second picture is the Usual but the biscuit has been replaced with sourdough bread. Read more
