Reviews for Vegan Snack Shack in New Orleans, LA
LESS SALT. So many reviews for over a year now have said the food is waaaaay too salty. I was hoping things would have changed... but nope. Also come on yall, there is no excuse for mac and cheese to look like this, yes even vegan versions. Like why aren'treal macaroni noodles used? Why does the cheese look like this? YouTube has more than enough recipes on bomb mac for restaurantsnot to know how to do it. Also I think folks are trying to be healthier but quinoa doesn't need to replace every rice dish. I'mtrying not to be so negative but this place could be amazing if they actually listened to the negative reviews. Read more
The food was good. The red beans and rice would have been better if it came with actual rice and not couscous or whatever it... was. Also the cauliflower was very salty. I like my food saltier than most but I couldn?t even finish it because of how saltyit was. The almond cake was really really good though. Read more
Out of all the vegan food I have tried this is the best. Called ahead and ordered then drove to pick it up. It is full of flavor... and five stars for creativity with each dish too! My boyfriend and I got the liberation Poboy, loaded fries, and the hot sausageburger. All were incredible. Read more
Full of flavor and satisfying, I ordered the vegan Gumbo with Jambalaya. Pick up and delivery only. Open late night.
This is a real nice family owned business. The vegan Mac and cheese is the best in the city. Trust me. The only reason I would... give 4 stars is because it takes a long time for the food to get ready some times. I fuss but baby when I get my food me feetare swinging at the table. I also love the vegan hot sausage sandwich. This is worth the wait even if you only get the Macn cheese. New Orleans. It?s time to get off the dairy and trust me if you do this $h/: will satisfy you. Can't be mad at the wait. Tried this spot on my way back to Atlanta. I will try again when I'm back in N.O. The food was... delicious. I had the jambalaya plate. Give it a try. Fresh food takes a minute to prep. Read more
Waited over an hour outside. They only offer take out. The person showed up 25 minutes after we placed our order to come in and... cook it. It looks nothing like the uploaded stock photos. I was disappointed to pay $33 for 4 pancakes that we had to eat on abroken brick sidewalk ???? Read more
Yeah the wait is a little long sometimes, but the food is wonderful! Good things take time! Also, I didn?t think it was too... salty. The fried cauliflower was perfect! They could have gone overboard by drowning it in some sauce (to make it like a veganwing), but no need. Throw a little of your own hot sauce on em, and they are superb! Wish I coulda tried the gumbo, but theywere out of some of the ingredients. Instead they threw in some extra jambalaya. Very tasty!!! Greet place, and just love theidea of a drive up and get it. Like i said, order online and wait a little then for some greatness! Read more
