My daughter and I visited New Orleans for Halloween weekend. We stayed in the Garden District so wanted to eat closer to home.... We Googled places to eat and this place had fantastic reviews and we got told by some locals that this place was awesome. Theywere correct! Hannah, our server was super sweet and attentive and the rest of the staff was super cheerful and everyone wasdressed in costumes. We loved it seeing the holiday spirit. We started with the Mahi Mahi appetizer and then ordered thequesadilla and tacos. Everything was amazing and cooked to perfection. We will definitely go back on our next visit! Read more
Everything was SO GOOD. Staff was all very friendly and welcoming. Queso was amazing.. (add the chorizo!) The best sweet potato... fries and margaritas we?ve ever had. We wish we had a Rum House in St. Louis! You can?t go wrong with any of the tacos. We willdefinitely be back. Read more
Get. Out! People, stop what you?re doing and get over to The Rum House. The food is absolutely amazing, and definitely worth the... wait (for those who feel the need to complain about the wait). Taco Tuesday ($3 tacos & $5 margaritas) is the best. The drinksare on point, and get this, not extremely overpriced. The key to it all?the service! See if you can get Shawn as your server. Hewas super friendly and made sure our glasses (and stomachs) were full. A great experience! We?ll definitely be back the nexttime we?re in town. Read more
Incredible. Started with a House Margarita and Erin's Key Lime-Coconut Rum Punch. The Rum Punch was so damn good I had to get... another. Mr Biggs Plate with Brisket, Calypso Beef, Flake Fish, and Green Chili Chicken tacos, side of sweet potato wafflefries, fried plantains, and beef patty. Every single thing on the plate was amazing with incredible flavor! The flank steak wasa smidge tough to bite through, but was still delicious. The fries, beef patty, and plantains I could eat all day. I think weneed to try more of those tacos! We purposely left a few meals open on our trip, and may have to go back again for more. Read more

I love everything about this place. The Jamaican/Caribbean vibe and music. The servers are friendly and helpful. The food is... delicious. I love the brisket and the steak tacos. So far all the sides I've tried have been wonderful. There is outdoorseating as well. If you want to get away from Bourbon street and the usual Cajun food THIS is where you want to go. Also, thisplace has the widest selection of Rum I have ever seen in one place. I guess that's why it's called The Rum House. Try anydrink they are absolutely refreshing and perfect with the food.
