This is one of the restaurant pretending to be a high end place. The food was horrible and too expensive for the quality. The... service and servers were terrible. First of all, the servers were all over the place and they were bumping into my husband every3 minutes while we were waiting, eating, and trying g to enjoy the experience. Arrange the table better, and don't place thetable at high traffic area. It was so frustrating and irritating. We didn't feel the professionalism from the servers. We'vebeen to restaurants with servers show their elegance and respect, which we'd expect from a "fancy" restaurant like this, but wedidn't feel any of it from the servers at The Pelican Club. Second of all, they bring in this huge sheet of white paper to coversquare/rectangle tables every time after they clear out the table, even though they have a white table cloth on them already. They weren't doing this to round tables. Please use just the white cloth instead if they are going for high-end atmosphere. Theywere flapping around as they go through the entire restaurant walking beside people who are eating with sheet of paper thatcould give them paper cuts and making flapping noise as they pass by. If they are going to cover with the shert of paper, theleast they could do is to prep the paper to the table size before they open instead of flapping around over sized paper aroundthe restaurant and folding to sizes as they put it on. Ridiculous! Lastly, we were not impressed with the food at all. With allthe restaurants in French Quarter, I would've expected them to be at lease decent. The gambo and bisque was good, and that wasabout it. The appetizer was disappointing. I ordered escargot and expected it to come with the shells, but it came with too muchgarnishment and barely any meat that I couldn't enjoy the escargot itself. The tiny bisquits that came with were hard as rockand not enjoyable with escargot at all. The fun part of ordering escargot is to pull the meat ou Read more

We came in around 8:15pm for a table for four and luckily they had open spots. The mardi gras menu were in place and i think its... only there for february. We almost ordered the entire menu: - creamy shrimp bisque - new orleans style bbq shrimp - searedscallops and artichoke - pelican club baked oysters - jumbo lump crab and shrimp ravigote - louisiana cioppino - creme bulee -bread pudding Its cheaper to go with the course meals and the waiter helped us made that happened. Services was fun andtheatrical. Food is delicious and mesmerizing. The price is okay given location, quality, and service. The space is andatmosphere is pelican themed with interesting decor. Glad to check it out! Read more

For the love of God, if you're gonna call it an Old fashioned please make sure it has the right ingredients or call it something... else. Very let down by the drinks, the lady and I both agreed that the cocktail menu was a let down after trying the oldfashioned and she had the French 75 The flavor for what you get is pretty good, however presentation wise, there's a lot tobe desired. The lady got the Panéed gulf fish dish and it came out looking like a middle school lunchroom tray. However I gotthe Pelican club baked oysters as my app, and the lady got the seared scallops as hers and we both agreed both were the bestthing we had that evening was the baked oysters. I had the Mustard & herb crusted lamb chops and they were pretty good. So forthe price you pay, I definitely wouldn't put this on my come back to list. It was mediocre at best. Read more

10/10 Hidden in Pirates Alley, the award-winning contemporary Creole restaurant, is precisely what you might envision. The place... is beautiful, the staff is attentive, and the food is sublime. We started the evening with a delicate rosé, a cup of chicken, andouille sausage, and shrimp gumbo. Each bite was succulent. We continued our meal with a salad and BBQ shrimp. I've alwaystold the tale about my favorite BBQ shrimp spot being closed and how I've been on a hunt for the taste of my memories - I canfinally say that The Pelican Club is the closest I've come to it. Their BBQ shrimp is worth the trip. If nothing else, heremakes you want to visit this restaurant. We finished the night with a three-way roasted duck that exceeded our expectations. Theduck confit is crispy and tender all in a bite. The Jambalaya is an explosion of pleasure in your mouth, and the braised duck isso tender and moist you want to eat it all up. I honestly have nothing wrong to say about this place. I enjoyed everything, downto the parking in the MontLeon lot and walking a few steps down the most beautiful alley in the French Quarter. If you haven'thad the pleasure of experiencing The Pelican Club, I advise you to head over to Open Table and book a reservation ASAP. You'reworth it ???? Kudos to Brian-Eric (aka Pony) and his colleagues at The Pelican Club New Orleans for an amazing dinner!!! The staff are... genuine, authentic and ready to make sure you are well served and satisfied. I Highly recommend the escargot (which I got) andthe scallops (which Andre, my hubs, ordered) as starters. The filet was cooked to perfection! Dessert followed with coconutcream pie for me and Crème Brûlée for Andre. Truly a New Orleans gem! Thank you, Brian for a lovely NOLA night out! ???? Read more

Finally got a chance to go here during Coolinary. I don?t think there?s a better deal in this city than the Coolinary deal at... Pelican Club ($45 for 3 courses). I started with the baked oysters. They were perfect. They had a flavor that was very uniquefrom the other charbroiled oysters I?ve had. The rack of lamb was so tender and juicy and just so perfectly cooked and seasoned,it was on of the best things I?ve ever eaten in my life. This place has gorgeous decor, and a wonderfully swanky atmosphere withexcellent service. Perfect date night spot! Read more
