Reviews for The Green Room Kukhnya in New Orleans, LA
One of my favorite restaurants hands down! Lots of authentic eastern-European dishes and some with some local flair to them as... well. They sadly don?t have as many Slavic beverages available, but I couldn?t recommend this place enough. Get the Moscowdevils and the borscht! Read more
Amazing food at great prices! Service was great, portions were large. We tried the blini trio and every single one was amazing.... The vegan options are just as delicious as everything else, perfectly seasoned and cooked. I got the beef stroganoff and themeat was so tender it was melting in my mouth. Friend got the beet burger and raved about it and the dipping sauces are amazingon the fries! They have a full bar with excellent Moscow Mules. Very dive bar, hole in the wall feel to the place but clean andthe tables & chairs really give you that sitting in babushka's kitchen vibe. Can't wait to go back! Read more
I?m a Polish girl from Chicago ,my son brought me to dine for Mother?s Day , for I?ve been just dieing for this authenticity for... too long. Let me tell you , I was beyond pleased!! I started with the beets/ greens, that alone I could just live on it was soamazing! And the Slavic platter was just like I was back in my babushka kitchen it brought a tear to my eye????. The atmospherewas so relaxing so chill. The staff seamed short handed & yet handled every with grace & kindness! I will most definitely becounting the days till I come back & try the rest of the menu???????? Anyway, thank you for making my Mother?s Day mealunforgettable!! God Bless you all. Read more
Very impressive small-scale tavern and restaurant. Friendly, active service, though like everywhere these days they are... stretched thin for staff. The prices are so affordable that you can try a bit of everything--which you should. The sampler wasinteresting and on point, with a lot of different flavors and textures. We loved that a shot of vodka comes with a side ofpickles. Amazing. We visited on a Sunday afternoon, about 5pm. Read more
I gave this place only 4 stars because it was not a white tablecloth and napkins. The other Russian restaurants I remember are... the Russian Tea Room and the Russian Samovar in NYC. Both of these were rather fancy. But this place almost fits a dive bardefinition. But the food was amazingly good. We had deviled eggs with caviar on top and a carrot slaw. My daughter in law had achicken cutlet dish on asparagus with a potato salad. My son had a Reuben with a large side order of french fries. Both werehappy with their choices. I had a stuffed cabbage leaves with meat and barley topped with a tomato sauce. And an order ofperogies. All very good. I had a Russian Vodka, my only disappointment was it was not served ice cold. Finally on leaving I gota pint of soup with meat walnuts etc. It was frozen and I plan to have it later in the week. I recommend it highly but it is adive bar so be warned. See the pics. Read more
Well Where should I start... The interior has nothing common with real Ukrainian culture. At the entrance we never been greeted.... The waitresses can't pronounce names of the meals in menu. Silverware never been served. Food is disgusting. I ordered blini andsalad Olivie. It was cooked probably few weeks ago and defrosted before servings and taste is horrible. Definitely overpriced. When I told the waitress about it, I never got any apology. I feel so bad for my country's unique culture and delicious cuisine, being ashamed of this place. Please don't go there and don't waist your time and money Read more
