Great little cafe. I always get nervous about cafes attached to hotels, but this one easily stands on its own. Great place to... load up before hitting town. Read more

I stopped in as I was checking out of the Pontarchrain headed to the airport. Just wanted something quick. I got the egg... sandwich with the side of grits. Wow! Didn?t kno something so simple could taste so good! The bread was perfectly toasted, eggscooked to perfection, and the aioli was a nice touch?elevated the entire sandwich. The grits were amazing too. Lovely customerservice. Next time I?ll be sure to stop in for a full breakfast. Read more

One of the worst dining experiences we can remember. Food was mostly OK aside from one sandwich served with an egg with runny... whites. Mostly just horrible service. Read more

Wow, such a small cafe but the food was incredibly rich in taste. Would definitely recommend if you don't mind paying around... 10-15 dollars for breakfast. Read more

Edit: we tried this place a 2nd day while in town and it was way better! Service was perfect and it met our... expectations. Previous review: We came in for a late breakfast. Only one other couple was there. We were seated immediately, given water, and order taken. After that, service was lacking especially considering they weren't busy. Food took a very longtime but tasted delicious. They didn't come by to refill water, so we did it ourselves (saw water dispenser sitting out.) Had toask for our check. Food was nice but only come if time isn't of concern. Read more

I did a lot of good eatin? during my week in New Orleans, but I must say that breakfast at Silver Whistle Cafe was a standout... meal! The atmosphere was delightful - historic charm with just enough modern taste. The coffee was some of the best I had inNOLA. Even seemingly simple dishes had a remarkable quality; for instance, the breakfast parfait was perfection. I usually don?torder this sort of dish in a restaurant since it?s easy to assemble at home, and prepared versions are usually too sweet. Butthis was better than any parfait I?ve ever made! The granola tasted homey and intensely nutty, and was layered with thickunsweetened yogurt and fresh fruit. The balance between crunchy/creamy and tangy/sweet was ideal. The egg white frittata didn?tsound especially exciting on paper, but it was amazingly flavorful while still being light. And again, the textural counterpointoffered by fresh greens and radishes made things interesting & balanced. The service was speedy and friendly, too. Overall, itwas an easy-going and lip-smacking start to the day! Read more

A historic wonder brought back to life and worth it just for the gorgeous interior (also check out the bar across the hotel... lobby as it's hand painted bayou murals are fabulous too). The grits are stone ground and substantial. A true historic recipethat makes them absolutely delicious without adding cheese or anything else. I loved them. Also the hash browns are cooked induck fat and delicious. Don't write them off. I had the pimento cheese omelette because weight gain be damned, I want a decadentculinary adventure, and I was in no way disappointed. Read more
