Original Review (Five stars): EAT HERE. You'll be so happy you did. The atmosphere is fantastic, the service was amazing (Kim... took great care of us!), and the food was nothing short of *stellar*. This was one of our favorite meals in New Orleans. Thecharbroiled oysters, fish tacos, fish dip, and cheese fries did not disappoint. It's off the beaten path but 100% worthit. *EDIT: We came back the very next evening (because the first time was so amazing). We didn't have a reservation this time,so we had to eat in the "Mermaid Lounge" instead of the main patio. Sounded great in theory: we order drinks at the bar, andorder our food separately from our phones and it would be brought out to the table. Not quite as great in practice. Thebartenders just seemed incredibly annoyed to stop filling the main patio's drink orders to serve us. It also took us over 40minutes to get 2 orders of oysters and 2 orders of tacos. We were the only patrons in the lounge area, and although the mainpatio was pretty full- it is by nature not a huge area. That being said...food was still tasty. It just was nowhere near asdelightful an experience as the night before. If you sit in the mermaid lounge, prepare to feel like an afterthought. Fourstars, grudgingly. Read more
Such a special place! Vibes ALL DAY. Beautiful outside seating in an ample courtyard. I saw a jazz ensemble upstairs featuring... some of the best musicians in NOLA and the food, atmosphere, and music was everything. We went on a Thursday night, so we gothalf off the bottle of wine suggested by a staff member after hearing what kind of wine we liked. It was spot on what we werelooking for. The food was excellent and reasonable. I swear the wedge salad is the best I've ever had! My friend got a salad tooand we split crab cakes and the grilled chicken sandwich. Highly recommended for people who like Oysters. They regularly featurevarieties from all over the country, not just rhe region. Go here and get your drink/eat on!!! Read more
Amazing atmosphere, service was quick and attentive. We had charbroiled oysters and smoked fish dip to start, portobello... sandwich and a Burguer, all delicious, fish dip was my favorite! And the cocktails?oh the best part ;) very much recommended Read more
Beautiful patio and good food. My tacos and fries were a bit skimpy... great taste but could have been more generous with the... amount of food. One complaint... when paying for food in the "self-serve" area the automatic gratuity is 25%... this is quitestiff for self-serve... Read more
Best oysters of our life. Great outdoor seating. Good service. You order on the phone. Crawfish dip was mediocre but the fries... were solid. Did I mention that the oysters were fantastic?! Oyster Wednesday happy hour was great. Read more
Loved Sidecar! Excellent selection of oysters from around the country. My spouse and I had the Gulf oysters, which were... fantastic. Staff was super helpful in recommending oysters. Basically the entire seating area is outside, which makes it superCovid safe. For the cooler nights, heat lamps were available too. This place is a little hard to find, but totally worth it. It is a good restaurant- we don?t particularly love oysters but needed to eat at a place close to the Huggins hotel. We ordered... a variety of the cooked oysters and they were pretty good. We ordered the steak and red fish entrees and they were good. If youneed a break from the decedent NOLA foods this is a good start. The fried cauliflower could?ve been a little more crispy- butthe service was really great. Read more
Great outdoor space, perfect for dinner and drinks with a group. There?s lots of seating, so expect to be patient while the... employees work hard to serve everyone; the food, drinks, and ambiance more than make up for any delays in dining in. Read more
