Reviews for Sala in New Orleans, LA
Absolutely delicious! Woody (bartender) is an amazing mixologist. Highly recommend.
Service is EXTREMELY important when you are trying a new restaurant. My husband and I arrived a little early for a reservation... for 4 and was pleasantly surprised to be seated early however, 15 minutes passed before someone checked on us. It rapidly wentdownhill from there. The server (Phillip T.) was absolutely awful! The best way to describe him is unwelcoming; patronizing;rushed; agitated and down right nice nasty. He has perfected giving nastiness with a smile. It was clear that he would ratherclean toilets with his tongue than wait our table. The Food: The spinach dip was room temperature when it arrived at thetable. My husband loved the crab & corn bisque The shrimp pasta was absolutely delicious! The cheesecake and chocolate cake wereaverage. I WILL NEVER return. There are too many GREAT restaurants with FANTASTIC service in New Orleans to enjoy. Read more

We arrived for dinner just after 6pm on a Saturday and were able to be seated without reservations, but I would highly recommend... them because it got busy quickly. There is a parking lot with plenty of parking. Loved the atmosphere; the place is modern witha variety of seating options (regular tables, high tops, bar, and lounge) and you can actually hear the person you're trying tohave a conversation with. Service was great and all of the staff members were actually wearing masks correctly. The cocktailmenu is extensive and all the drinks looked good. We had an appetizer and dinner, and it was all pretty good. Duck empanadaswere more like triangular egg rolls but still tasty. Read more
I know a lot of restaurants are struggling due to the shortage of staff, so my review is not about how long we had to wait for... the food when there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. My review is about how can someone serve extremely limpy fries with aburger that was supposed to be medium rear and came out well done! Also, the meat had no flavor whatsoever; thank God forketchup. I was very disappointed to say the least. Read more
Went here for brunch the other day to celebrate graduation and a birthday. Food was ok, but service was iffy, including an older... man (employee) who seemed to have a problem with us having a good time (laughing and talking). Suggestion: don’t offerbottomless mimosas is you cannot support the demand or the atmosphere that comes with it. Read more
DDC - Dining During Covid… you already know!!!! (in my Big Freedia voice) Visited with my friend for a mid-day brunch & we... happened upon Sala. Located in the West End area, this location is kinda like a little duck-off; if you know then you know. AsI stated, the location is nice, a little compact because of the condos in the area & the amount of traffic, but this still is anice place for a brunch or dinner. The indoor decorum is modern, minimalist & elegant; just like I like it. Seating is spacedout, which also adds to the appeal of the restaurant. Looks like this place could be on the cover of a "kinda sort of but nottoo ritzy restaurant" magazine. Once indoors we requested an outdoor table. However, it was advised that the only one that wasvacant was actually set aside for a reservation, bummer. But, we were FAVORED enough to see a table that was becoming vacant, sowe took that table… easy peasy lemony squeezy… Our server, brought water and menus to our table. We ordered drinks, whenasked, he advised that the bottomless Mimosas were over at 2 o’clock so we opted to just order single drinks. Ordering wasfairly simple, the menu was straightforward, one side was food, the other side was alcohol. We ordered the shrimp salad, it wasdelivered in a timely fashion it was good to taste & cost effective. The ambience of the exterior portion of the restaurant wasjust what we needed, fresh, balmy air on a Saturday afternoon. The drinks & the food went down well. My Mexican mule was quitetasty & lit my fire just right. Now… why 3 stars? THE SERVICE!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS KEY!!!! Our server was lackluster, unfriendly, yet not rude, just distant, unwelcoming & distracted; this took away from my dining experience. Maybe something wasgoing on with him, but it was VERY noticeable, as my dining partner & I both commented on it. Too many places in THE NOLA BABYto eat to return here soon. Maybe when I return, he’ll have his head in the game. Private parking lot i Read more
Made reservations for a party of 4 on a Sunday afternoon for 3:15pm. We were literally the only people seated in the entire... restaurant which I thought was great (less wait time). As an appetizer, I ordered truffle fries. They were warm when theyarrived to me (not hot). The truffles would not adhere to the fries and just fell onto the plate. My daughters also ordered thetruffle fries as their entree. They had the same experience. I requested a Caesar salad. My lettuce was warm. The Catfish platewas good. However, the sizes were undesirable. I had one whole Catfish filet and multiple pieces which appeared to resembleCatfish nuggets. The service took entirely too long being that we were the ONLY customers in the entire restaurant. I was notimpressed at all. Read more
