Reviews for SAFFRON NOLA in New Orleans, LA
Favorite meal in Nola during my trip this weekend, and I’m feeling so lucky that this was the last and by far the best meal.... We walked in on Saturday evening without reservations and were seated at the bar. Something I’ve learned over the years is notto sleep on the bar - you usually get great service and this was no exception. We enjoyed the cocktails as much as the food, andthe Junglee (jungli) Bird and Anti Inflammatory were great. JB is good for those who appreciate sweet, tropical drinks withlovely passion fruit and mint. The anti inflammatory was AMAZING, would not think of combining cognac plus turmeric coconut milkbut now I can’t see it without! The drink was topped with chili oil and cilantro, which worked out well. Menu is small butoffers a nice variety of both north and south (Indian) flavors from chicken lasooni to biryani, but also some Louisianainfluence as well. The shrimp curry was yet another hit, the best cooked shrimp I’ve ever had, so juicy and tender, so freshit tasted like it was pulled out of the water! I like how it has a fried curry leaf on top of the rice, I felt like I was inGoa. Almost wanted to try every item on the dessert menu but we settled for the Kiss from a Rose and masala chai. Can never turndown kulfi and it was beautiful mixed with rose syrup and vermicelli, toasted pistachios. Read more
I would definitely recommend you give this place a try! The staff behind the bar were amazing and attentive, and the... ambiance/location is great. However, after going once, I don’t feel inclined to go back. The flavor and/or portion sizedon’t justify the price, in my opinion. Our favorite thing we ordered was the pakoda, and the chutneys were amazing (everydish needed more of them!). Read more

This was another place I found with great and friendly service. The cocktail I tried was great and was made with a liqueur I... hadn’t heard of before made with beets. The oysters were fantastic, and so was the cast iron gobi paired with naan. I havezero issues with this restaurant. Read more

This was our first time here and we would definitely go back. The cocktail was delicious, my chicken biriyani was amazing and... portion was generous and the dessert was perfect. It was my birthday so our server brought out my dessert with a lit candle. Myhusband and I agree that the service makes you feel like a VIP. You should visit Saffron. Read more
