I?ve overlooked this place for years and that was the worst mistake I could have made. The food here is excellent! We arrived... during happy hour on a Friday. They have half off Tidbits/Grazers and cocktails. The service could have been better. Our firstserver tried to deter us from ordering what we wanted to order. She kept saying it was too much food! But we only wanted 3Tidbits/Grazers to share among the 2 of us. If you?re going to sell bites for half off during happy hour, don?t try to put alimit on what the customer orders. It was irritating. We were there right before a shift change, so we ended up with a differentserver. He was better, but a little slow at times. I have no complaints about anything I ate. We ordered the Quail and Waffleand pimento cheese spread. The quail was flavorful and fried perfectly. The pimento cheese was good as well, but not sure I?dorder again. For entrees we had the Reuben and Croque Monsieur. Both were amazing! However, the fries/stringy things on the sidegot cold really quick. I had the Ohld Fashound and the other guest had That B*tch Katrina. It should have been called That PunkKatrina instead. Both drinks were weak and unimpressive. I?m glad that we only paid half price. With that said, I?d definitelybe back for the food and the drinks not so much. Read more
Had breakfast here 4/22/2019 and it was wonderful! On a friend?s recommendation, I had the Curry Roasted Cauliflower ?Humpty... Dumpty? (their name for omelets) with peppers, gruyere cheese, hummus, tamarind and potatoes; along with an absolutely deliciousblueberry pancake (1,2 or 3 available as you wish) recommended by an unremembered online source. I ate most of it without syrupbecause it wasn?t needed. The omelet was so good! My friend had, and quite enjoyed, the more John Smith breakfast sandwichconsisting of Bacon, scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese on a biscuit with a lovely side of fresh fruit. This was my second visitto The Red Dog Diner. First time was for their happy hour which I think is one of the best in town. Both times the service hasbeen excellent. If you?re there between 8-10 am Monday-Friday they have a breakfast Happy Hour with 1/2 price specialty drinks. Read more
The food was so dang good. I had the patty melt, but we sat at the bar, and watched them cook: every single thing that came out... looked amazing and it was really hard to decided. It was a nice place to have lunch with friends. I would recommend maybecalling ahead to reserve a spot: it would have been an hour wait if the bar had not opened up, but it was worth it. I also had amargarita, and it was delicious. The fries were super fresh, and the service was awesome. I will be back on my next visit. Read more
Fell in love with the shrimp and grits, and the blueberry pancakes. We had a long conversation about how they must find only the... best blueberries. We found a kindred spirit in our fellow Philadelphia waitress. Did you know there is an amazing biscuit hidingunder everything you go to eat in New Orleans? It's true. Great food here, friendly and fast service, we will think about thisplace fondly. Read more
Found Red Dog looking for a breakfast spot. Had a wait of about 40 minutes but we were able to have some drinks at the back bar.... Which was clutch for a recovery after a long night. The whole party enjoyed everything. I had the waffles and it was great. Themimosa were expensive for what you get. The neighborhood was cool and had some shops to get souvenirs. Read more
Why did it take me so long to finally discover this place? Went there for happy hour / dinner and between my husband and myself,... we got to try three appetizers (deviled eggs, spinach and artichoke dip, corn and crab fritters) and two entrees (duck diabloand tomato and oregano glazed salmon). Everything was flavorful and delicious! They also have really good drinks (my favoritewas the peach one, photo of the ingredients included) and one of the best bread puddings I've had in town (and I've had many). All drinks and appetizers are half off during the happy hour. Also, I realized a week later that I had left my credit card thereand it was still safely there. I'll be back soon, for breakfast this time. Read more
It was a good find. I needed a place with outdoor pet friendly seating and breakfast. Well, this place checked my boxes and then... some. The food was great, the portions were good, and the service was great. There is a side alley that leads to an outdoor bararea that pets are not allowed so be aware. They have a good drink menu and will accommodate most requests. I highly recommendtrying any appetizer just because all of them seemed good. I also recommend this place for early risers because they have amorning Happy Hour!!!! Read more
