Stopped here for a final meal before going to the airport. The appetizer was cornbread which was quite appealing. My entree was... fried seafood platter consisted of catfish and shrimp. I needed one last taste of cajun before leaving town and this spot didnot disappoint. Read more

The char-grilled oysters are a stable in NOLA. The char-grilled oysters were delicious. Some of the shrimps were a tab... overcooked but loved the grilled/crunch flavor at the rims and the seasoning. The fish was a little bit salty. The doublecheeseburger was nothing special. Both entrees were small for the price we paid. Service was friendly. We went on a Saturdaynight and it was pretty empty. There was a band playing which was nice. Overall it was a good try. Read more

I had the Alligator Bites as an appetizer andit was my first time having it grilled and blackened it was yummy and I highly recommend! Our entree wasn?t as good we had thecatfish and fries as well as the red fish, mashed potatoes and green beans. Overall we had a great experience and the appetizerwas good so I?m rating a 3.5 stars! Really bad meal, not what it used to be. Waste of $100. I have been here several times when visiting Nola for work,... conventions, etc. Used to like this place a lot and bragged to the wife about it. We came in town on our way back home so I hadto take my wife. We ended up walking 1.4 miles to get here, anticipating a good meal. Left deeply disappointed and $100poorer. We asked the waitress about the specials. She said they were out of the specials menus and commenced to telling usthey had "frog legs and gator and a few desserts" but she couldn't remember and didn't know the prices. We ended up justordering from the menu. Oysters were fine, very small but edible. The entries were not good at all. The sauce on my wife's mealwas so thin it was like water. Both fish were far too fishy to eat. Sides were acceptable at best. Even the stuffing on top ofmine was burned. Waitress came back, noticed we didn't eat and asked if the meal was okay. I told her no, it actually wasn'tgood. She said, "sorry...that's a bummer. So do you want the check?". End of transaction. I have bragged far too many timeson this place. Haven't been here in 5-6 years. This was the last visit, and last $100 they get from me. Irritated that she wascontent in ignoring the obvious. I rarely, rarely send food back. This fully deserved it. Read more

Fantastic dinner at Mulate's. Went in with a group and got a variety of foods and all was superb. The cornbread and whipped... honey butter are an absolute must. The grilled gator bites as well, simply fantastic and so well seasoned and tender! Catfishand shrimp were perfectly fried, and the Caesar salad was delicious. They had live music going when we came in on Friday night. It was during the Final 4 so it was like a 45 min wait for a table but definitely worth it. Would recommend and would returnhappily! Our good friend that lives in New Orleans took us to dinner at one of his favorite Cajun restaurants. The food was fantastic!... The live Cajun Band was so good and was just the right entertainment to go with our lunch. The mask band has been lifted at noontoday but our wait staff still wore them to insure our safety. Highly recommend this place! Read more

Mulate?s is just about 10 minutes walk from the Hilton Riverside. The ambience feels like the old time. We ordered the grilled... trio of oysters + shrimps + fish as well as the BBQ shrimp. Food came out hot and tasty ? the BBQ shrimp was a little saltyexpected with the recipe. The wait staff was great. The band came on at 6:30 with ?southern Louisiana? style music. We reallyenjoyed the meal. We are glad to support and understand the difficulty of running a restaurant during the pandemic. Read more
