One of my favorite go to places in New Orleans. Use to go here when I lived in the city and make it a point to always visit when... I'm in town. A very small local restaurant with great food and wonderful ambiance. Absolutely love everything about it. Thelasagna is always amazing - I highly recommend. Read more

A New Orleans staple for Italian-American cuisine located in the beautiful and quiet Lower French Quarter. Being only a block... from historic Bourbon Street, Mona Lisa has served as a neighborhood staple for more than 35 years. Like many others in thefrench quarter, this building has had many uses in the past. It has once served as a cigar shop and machine-works building, thecurrent incarnation still retains many of the features of its colorful past. This restaurant screams Italy the second you walkin! From the red and white checkered tablecloths to the red cafe curtains in the front windows, the decor definitely brings meback to past dining experiences throughout Italy. An impressive food menu paired with an extensive wine menu, equals a perfectdinner. Starting with the unique appetizer menu, the traditional garlic cheesy bread served with the their rich house marinarawas a great start. After all who, besides a vampire, doesn't LOVE a combination of garlic and cheese?? So many entrees and solittle time! Naturally I had to experience their freshly prepared lasagna, which comes smothered in just the right amount ofthat wonderful house marinara sauce. Naturally they add a few slices of fresh bread to ensure none of that house marinara goesto waste. Clearly an excellent choice! The rich saucy red goodness, combined with the fresh cheeses and seasoned meat reallysatisfies the palate. This is a place where you take advantage of those staples of Italian cuisine when you spot them, if onlyI had more time for one of their cannoli's.... Oh well, maybe next time. Cheers! Read more

Did not at all expect the 'Upscale Italian Diner' vibe, but it was executed in a unique and unpretentious way. The portions are... large, and each plate has good value. The wine selection was pretty good, and the bottles were reasonably priced for the FrenchQuarter. My Favorite part was that each table had crayons and we could draw on the table setting. They even have cut out some ofthe good drawings and hung them on the wall! It was fun even for us adults. Read more
