Reviews for McAlister's Deli in New Orleans, LA
They were out of potato, I ordered nachos, Nachos were cold, chicken was in a cup, chopped long, not pulled, chili and melted... cheese was in another cup. Man came to the front from kitchen insisting that there?s no such thing as hot nachos but, ideallynever had any that were cold, someone else came up to the front to team up on me insisting there?s no such thing. Finally I saidtake it back. This was in the afternoon after a flight from Atlanta with no meal to speak of, she asked what else I wanted, Iordered a club. My Daughter went back for napkins and the woman remarked ?what?s wrong now?? Read more
It makes no sense for you to place an order online, because when you get there it won't be ready. Have you ever felt like you... were talking to a brick wall when communicating with a person? That's how I felt speaking with the cashier. She didn'tunderstand why I wanted to know how someone who ordered for the first time in line while I'm there, received their food beforeme when I ordered online 25 mins ago? I don't think it takes to much common sense to understand what I was saying. They use torun this restaurant so much better. I came here for years. One of the women who has been working there for years was in theback, and she does a good job. However, they need to train the staff better. The service has been terrible these last few times. There's so many other places to try, make this your last choice! Read more
We ordered dinner for three people and one did not get their Mac and cheese. The one drink we ordered was completely wrong, as... well. When we tried to call the restaurant to ask about it, no one would answer the phone. Highly unprofessional. Read more
This is a small establishment that appears to be always busy, so be prepared to wait. Good thing you?re surrounded by a casino... to keep you busy! The staff is incredibly friendly and does their best to make up for the wait. The food is great and what youwould expect from a McAllister?s. I?ve already eaten here on two occasions because it?s one of the few places to eat late in thearea. Good food, good people, just be patient.. Read more
I don't usually write reviews but I was a little upset by all the bad reviews about McAlister's. Especially when I noticed a 1... star review and the pictures were of food from Fuddruckers. Which is right next door. It made me think people are mistaken. I'mglad I went! The lady at the register wasn't the most charming as some people have said BUT the food was quick (even with a feworders ahead of me) yummy and fresh! Glad I tried it despite the reviews. I will definitely go back. Read more
The burgers were falling apart. They didn?t toast the bread and it tasted stale. I?m sure McDonalds tastes better for half the... price. Read more
This New Orleans Southern cooking and Po Boy restaurant has been in business since 1938. As you enter, you order and pay, and... then you are seated. Foods are already cooked and is in a steam table. Sandwiches are being made as ordered. When everyone inyour party is seated. A server collects all tickets and brings food to the table. There were 11 people in our party. The first7 orders were brought to the table quickly. After a lag long enough for all others to finish eating, the next two arrived. Onewithout the fries. We were assured they were coming. Ok...they finished their meal...minus fries and the last two meals stillhadn't arrived. Still we waited with apologies and assurance that our meals were coming. To our servers credit, she had alreadyasked the manager Alex to come speak with us. He had already told her that "This isn't a fast food restaurant!" Clearly!!! Hecame out and said that there was a delay at the sandwich making station and that there was an issue with the fryer and they are"Doing the best they can" Very unprofessional!!! Eventually we got the sandwich and fries. You would expect that they would behot after that, but they were slightly warm. All that being said, I enjoyed my ham and cheese Po Boy and I heard no complaintsabout any of the rest of our parties food. The manager did tell our waitress to offer us each a bread pudding to go which wedeclined since we don't care for that. She did give us a brownie and a pecan pie. Please understand that our waitress was doing her best! This issue falls squarely on management. Not a good first impression!!! I would try again at a slower time. Read more
Seriously, you call this a sandwich? We have ordered from McAlister's for years and this is the worst excuse for a sandwich I... have ever seen. This location is the worst. Never again. Read more
