After getting checked in to our hotel, I convinced my husband to walk that .3 miles to Mannings because I had visited some years... ago and the food was great. Unfortunately, this trip we were greeted with unfriendly staff that seemed frustrated because wewere ordering 30 minutes before closing. The food looked amazingly but moments after we realized that the wings and fries tastedlike they had been marinated with salt. Not just salty, but too salty for consumption. Visited New Orleans for Essence Fest weekend. For a sports bar, Mannings was a bit quiet. With so many people in town, I was... expecting long lines and loud music. Glad that wasn't the case. We popped in just before closing and grabbed a seat at the bar.We ordered a shrimp po boy, wings, and a few other items. The food was good food. The staff was cool and helpful. I recommendthis place. The wings really are #1 It says they were voted #1 for best wings. They we not lying.. beignets we're good as well, great taste,... hot, light and fluffy.. soo good. Also great place to watch sports of course. Read more
