Laurel Oak was an absolute delight. My partner and I went there for our anniversary. The Jerk Duck was perfectly tangy without... overpowering the savory flavor of the duck. The Gulf Fish was Red Snapper and was perfectly cooked (still juicy without beingwet). You gotta try their Old Fashioned and Espresso Martini. To die for! And words cannot express how amazing out service was.Jon was heaven sent and made our night. He is absolutely lovely! Thanks for such a great night and compliments to the chef! Read more

Made reservations here because it was close to our hotel. We?re looking for a nice dinner for our last night in town and there... were good reviews here. When we arrived there was only one other table occupied. They asked if we had reservations as if therestaurant was full. We took our seats and upon trying to order several items from the already small menu were sold out. Weordered a small plate of hush puppies that were very bland even for hush puppies. 3 of us ordered the shrimp and pasta. Theshrimp actually tasted like swamp water and the grey pasta ( we were told it was Japanese noodles) was just not appetizing. Verydisappointing I would not recommend and will not go back. Read more

We stayed at the Magnolia Hotel off Gravier this weekend for a girls trip and the front desk person suggested we try the hotel... restaurant. We walked around the block because we were hesitant and ended up coming back to the have dinner. I will say we lovedeverything we ate and were also given some of their cauliflower to sample. Not only did we receive amazing food, but we alsoreceived great service by the staff, restaurant manager and Bartender. I would give the food a 10/10?.but understand it?s on themore expensive side. Good service and atmosphere but food is very average. The mushroom is lukewarm if not cold and the 18-dollar cocktail tastes... like watered-down Arizona. The only thing I find delicious is the three cauliflower pieces decorated on my duck plate. Read more

I have been trying to dine at this restaurant for almost a year but since I?m on the road and make 1 day stops in Nola I have... missed their open days until this past Friday. I had the mushroom small plate that came with delightful sauces and freshlyground cheese and ate the Gulf Fish of the day - snapper. The bartender Tarajill made me a Pimms Cup with fresh strawberries andblueberries. I highly recommend this restaurant. Read more
