Absolutely in love with this spot and mad for not knowing about it sooner. Family owned spot with all the love and comfort of... grandma?s cooking. We had a little of everything and it was lovely. I got baptized with orange blossom infused water. Read more

Great atmosphere; everyone did a great job of making you feel welcome. Escargot and mussels were outstanding and so was the... lamb. All of the dishes had great flavor. Perfect spot for a date night or an outing with close ones. Will definitely be back! Read more

Such a lovely little gem. New Orleans continues to surprise me even after living here a few years. I love that you can find a... lovely little Tunisian neighborhood restaurant with beautiful owners from halfway around the world. Delicious food, graciousservice and an atmosphere that feels like home. Read more

Ok so yesterday i gave this place a shot, and since i come from the same country as this restaurant does, i can have a valid... opinion on it, so the food is very far from Tunisian authentic food, the Ojja Merguez was too dry and had no broth or sauce thatyou can't eat it with bread like it's supposed to be eaten, it's kind of americanized that you gotta use forks to eat it, whichis not the authentic way. I had Salade Mechouia and it was okay.. it lacked olive oil though, the Brik with Tuna was nice i givethem credit for that, i have a few comments on the bread supply, so they would give you a basket of bread that's not enough forthe food, i had to ask for bread every 5 minutes and it would take time to get it, i gotta mention the long waiting time to getyour food too, i was also moved from my spot 2 times to leave it for other people which was very uncomfortable, I expected awarmer welcome and i came here mainly to chat and have a good time with my countrymen, unfortunately I didn't get any of that. An under rated and often overlooked gem of a restaurant. Jamilla's is a family owned business. Jamila is the chef, and her... husband runs the front. The food is excellent. This time, we had the mussels, eggplant salad, couscous with fish, and fish withchutney. All were excellent. Atmosphere is nothing special. But the host/server is attentive and personable. We dine out 5times per week, mostly Uptown. Frankly, we don't come often enough to Jamila's. Read more

The food wasn't what I expected. I have been to North Africa and I excepted better of the couscous and tagine. The desert was... great. The owner was rude and tried to come of nice. I had questions about menu and things the owner told the waitress that "wearen't doing this." This made me really want to leave but the owner seems to know how to play the culture card. I left. It ismore of a local spot and it seems like that's all they can handle. Also, the belly dancers on Saturday hasn't oocured since thestart of the COVID-19 pandemic, so if you want to go for this Arabian experience it is not happening. Read more

This was probably the best food we had while in New Orleans. Jamila's Cafe was a recommendation from a friend. I am so glad we... went. It it a small place run by a husband and wife that serves some of the best food. My wife had the fish and I had thelamb chops. Both of our meals were PERFECT. It was so hood i forgot to get a picture. This is a place we will return to everyvisit to New Orleans. When you get tired of the gumbo, jambalaya, and the fried foods give Jamila's Cafe a try you will notregret it. Read more

Wonderful. You treat it like you're eating at your aunts and uncles house. Only your aunt and uncle can't cook this good. And... they don't have this nice of a wine selection. The bread the escargot and the lamb magnificent! Read more
