My husband and I were here as part of our 4 year anniversary celebration and this was the most perfect place to get dinner. The... decor is beautiful. It's the little things like the fresh roses at the table. Made it super romantic! The food, drinks, &atmosphere are incredible! The food is absolutely mouthwatering. We split an order of calamari and it was amazing. I ordered thetilefish special and it was hands down the best fish I have ever eaten. My husband ordered the veal and he loved it! We bothordered the "Wolf in Lamb's Clothing" drinks and they were so unique but amazing! We split the pear bread pudding for dessertand it was also good! I also love the little touch of the book they pass around that you can write in after dinner. If youhaven't been here, you must go at least once! The food is the best in New Orleans! Really great atmosphere here, each room looks amazing. I like the main room because of the portraits and the plants hanging from... the skylight. The staff is attentive and even brought us a few appetizer to help celebrate a birthday in our party. The foodis a bit pricey but that's expected of this area. Jack Rose is an experience. With beautiful hanging vines falling down from a huge skylight and amazing artwork, this place makes... an impression right at the start. And the food is wonderful too! The duck gumbo was very rich, but not for those that can'thandle a little bit of spice. I drank a lot of water by the time I was finished. My main course was a fish with fingerlingpotatoes and corn in a crab butter. Very delicious. The best bite had to include everything (including the tender onions!) Fordessert the rum creme Brule was to die for, although I wasn't a fan of the raisins hidden at the bottom. Read more

Loved the food. The portions don't seem big for the price but the flavors are amazing, plus it was probably what an actual... serving size SHOULD be! Lovely waiting area and each "room was decorated in a different dramatic fashion yet not overlypretentious. Make your way to the rooftop bar after dinner for an amazing view of downtown New Orleans. I enjoyed my Valentine's dinner at Jack Rose. I have been to Hot Tin for their new years eve and it was excellent so I decided... to try the restaurant this time. Finally tried Jack Rose and it lived up to every expectation. The atmosphere is amazing with gorgeous colors and artwork... everywhere you turn. The service was top notch. Our waiter explained his favorite dishes and answered all my questions (whichwere many) with a kind disposition and pleasant demeanor. Wine and water glasses were never low and plates were clearedpromptly, throughout the entire meal. My husband had a steak that was cooked to perfection, as were my scallops. Everything wetried was so flavorful and decadent. A tiny word of caution, if you're sensitive to spice, the gumbo did have a little heat toit that could be too much for some, but it's not overwhelmingly spicy. I love coming to Jack Rose for everything girl hang related. Such a cute place to get together with friends and have some... drinks. Favorite is brunch. They make great cocktails, and all of their food I've ever tried has been delicious. If you likesteak, the steak and eggs is one of my favorites I have around town. Mile High Pile is a must if you're celebrating anything,and super fun, too! Great atmosphere, servers are knowledgeable, and enjoy always going back. Read more
