Fresh and delicious! Came here in September during Tampa bucs and Saints game and I had great food quick and tasty. We had fried... chicken of course, mac and cheese and baked beans. In a word?..incredible!!! This chicken is the best fried chicken I?ve ever had. It is a bit on the spicy side but with a little... ranch to dip in it was perfect. I had mine with the slaw and beans, they were delish as well. Let me tell y'all something. This place is BANGING! Got the 3 piece Spicy Dark with a piece of Chess Pie. The spicy chicken was... so crunchy and Supa juicy. So spicy made my nose run,, in the best sort of way. The coleslaw was next level and the greens weredivine. I got the slice of Chess pie heated, dove into it a little fast but that's on me. We are from out of town and went to this place twice in one week! The chicken was very juicy and the skin was very crispy. The... pieces of chicken breast were huge!!! Enjoyed it so much we visit twice in one week. Was at a conference at the convention center and I did not want the cold lunch... options so I found this. I've tried a lot of fried chicken in my time and grew up with a grandma who made it from scratch on Sundays but oh my goodness,... Gus's fried chicken is some of the best I've ever had!!! Great flavor, crispy skin and oh was is juicy. Fried green tomatoes andokra was also out of this world! Highly highly recommend! Read more

A really nice building, it looked like it was just opened or remodeled inside. Staff was nice but not helpful with what to... recommend. Wish they woulda helped me but it is what it is. The chicken was decent but nothing to brag about. The tenders wereaverage but the regular pieces of chicken were better!! The chicken was cooked right but lacked seasoning on it. It had a nicespice to it but no seasoning. I had it once but not sure I will go again.
