Ordered a Chicken Shawarma bowl through Uber Eats and it was awful!! The chicken and the rice was extremely bland, no seasoning.... I placed an online order for in-store pickup of a Chicken Swarma and a side order of 2 falafel. The wrap itself was good but the... chicken and the cabbage/pickle/onion topping were off - simultaneously under and over seasoned. The result was really unpleasantto try and eat. Also, they were out of falafel. No big deal. It happens. But rather than offer a substitution or refund theyjust said to take it up with Door Dash (their online ordering interface). My biggest problem though was just how incredibly rudethey were. New Orleans has way too many great food options to waste any time with a place where the staff acts like yourpresence is an imposition. I tried this place because of a recommendation from a local food writer whose judgement isimpeccable. So perhaps I just caught them on a bad day? Regardless though, I won't be back. The pita tastes SO GOOD. Crispy pita and super juicy meat 1000/10 recommend. Also really cheap.
I was ecstatic to hear Gita Pita had a location in Orleans parish. I was 1st introduced at the Chalmette location. REALLY missed... their food. As before I vacuum every morsel of my shawarma chicken bowl (hummus, tender chicken, baba ghanoush, fresh veggies,garlic sauce and dot hot sauce, fresh REAL pita bread.) Prices are still reasonable and service remains exceptional. The food isprepared to order so it is a very short wait but so dam worth it. Available seating in a clean spacious area. Purchased drinksfrom the store counter. Gita Pita is located inside the Red Zone. If you want to introduce your palate to a whole other level ofherbs, spices and flavor, I highly recommend????? I've loved this place ever since it opened. The pitas are chewy and warm (the pitas of dreams), they don't skimp on the protein... or veggies, and everything is consistently delicious. And now I have an even deeper appreciation for them after last night.After my Uber Eats driver incorrectly marked my order as picked up, and then failed to show up with my food, Gita Pita cancelledthe order on my behalf and arranged for another driver to drop off my order, free of charge - and it was correct, still warm,and - of course - perfectly tasty. Given that most restaurants would keep the order and give it to an employee, this shocked mein the best possible way. Keep it up Gita Pita - y'all are such a great addition to the New Orleans dining and hospitalityscene! Read more
I was walking and found this Mediterranean restauraunt. Awesome find because the food is fresh. The prices are great and they... play music. They also sell liquor, so if youre looking for a liquor store close to downtown, heres one. They on top of thatsell normal convienence store items. I will have to come back more often. Inside red zone. I had falafel with tahini, the falafel is made to order and the tahini along with all the other sauces are made... in house. You can dine in as they have a separate seating area. Really good and worth a visit. Read more
