Work dinner/meeting. Enjoyed the food. Only thing is, there is no signage, so you have to really look for the address. Also,... there are no take out orders. Otherwise, it was a very nice experience Read more

My wife and I visited NOLA for our anniversary. I found Gautreau's after a Google search for "wedding anniversary restaurants".... I booked a reservation in advance to ensure a table even though it was a Tuesday night. The restaurant is tucked back in aneighborhood so give yourself a little extra time if you ride the st charles st car to your dinner. We get there and there's 2of maybe 15-20 tables(down stairs) with people. Our server was very nice. We both ordered the filled and we both loved it. Theonly complaint I have is the fingerling potatoes. I sure could have used more lol. The reality is, the portions were as expectedfor a proper diet. Very good food, very quaint, and we would go back if it were in town. Read more

Outstandingly refreshing dining experience. The owner greeted us at the table and spent time getting to know us. The service was... excellent and the food outstanding. Great night. Read more

A quintessential New Orleans dining experience. Busy dining room with great service, ample wine selection and fine dining. Went... for a birthday dinner, food was good. App size was adequate for 1 maybe 2. Found the foie gras a bit on the hard side. Entreeswere good. Costly overall but would consider eating again Read more

This place has been a local favorite for us for a long time and we may have had an off night. Service: Had to chase service for... attention, remind them of drink order, then wave them down twice to be able to order. We were there over three hours and didn?tmean to be. Super slow, and yet rushed in their time with us. Two stars. Food: I loved the triple tail special and watermelongazpacho. Dad had his favorite- rabbit- and described it as inedible (overcooked, dry, and over salted). 2.5 stars maybe? Toaverage out my 4 and Dad?s 1? Atmosphere: They get a pass as this one was out of their control. A large table was celebrating a60th birthday party and they really threw down as if the whole place was their private room. One star with an asterisk? Whenyou put all this together against the total price, it pains me to give this a 3 star review, that probably should really berounded down to a 2. Read more

I took my friend here for her birthday and unfortunately this is the first time I've had to give 1 star to a restaurant and here... was our experience: Service: We had one lady that asked my friend if she wanted bottled water or regular water and my friendsaid bottle water. She was rude and raised her voice at my friend (the birthday girl)...already a bad start. It also took thewaiter a really long time to hand over our menus and took almost 40 mins for us to get our food. Food: I would say the food wasoverall very dissapointing. We ordered the duck breast dish and there was barely any duck meat with some vegetables init...almost like something I could cook at home! It tasted very mideocre. Luckily the dessert made up for it. I ordered achocolate lava cake which was rich and flavorful. Atmosphere: Very loud and the decor was kinda old and most of the customerswere all boomers. I wouldn't call this a fancy place for young, trendy people. We were surprised as we've observed that we werethe only young people dining here and we felt a little out of place. Overall, I would say that I am never coming back here. There are other places that have better food, better service, and better vibes. I would not recommend this place. Read more

Definitely my favorite meal of the trip! Ever since Sue Zemanick appeared on Top Chef, I have wanted to dine at Gautreau's;... however, considering she left back in 2016, it's certainly taken me awhile to get here. Since a recent trip had us staying inthe area, Gautreau's seemed to be the place to have our fine dining experience. Also, one of my regular customers, whooccasionally dines here, spoke highly of Gautreau's, so that cinched it for me. The weather permitted us to enjoy a leisurelywalk from the Alder Hotel, passing by St. Vincent Cemetery, Green Trees Early Childhood Village and lots of lovely houses alongthe way. Gautreau's is in a lovely, but somewhat unassuming building. We actually had to check the address to be sure we were inthe right place. I wondered whether the formality of the place might make it seem "stuffy", but; although, our server, Patrick, was very professional, he also made us feel very comfortable. After being sure that the peppers wouldn't be to spicy, I orderedthe Duck Confit with Caramelized Pears and Sherry Jus, chiriboga blue cheese, lentils, and piquillo peppers as my appetizer.Anytime there is duck confit on a menu, I'm ordering it, and WOW, was this delicious! Highly, highly recommended. For entrees,I chose their fresh catch of Triple Tail because it's always enjoyed when we have it where I serve. My friend ordered theirCracked Pepper Gnocchi with Brandied Creme Fraiche with morrels, green garbanzos, grilled spring onions and tomato confit. Bothof us were exceedingly happy with our choices, my fish being cooked perfectly and her gnocchi being nicely tender. I'm veryhappy that I finally made it to Gautreau's, and I know it won't be too long before I make plans to dine here again. Read more

We were in New Orleans for a week and this was the BEST meal we had on vacation. The Chef?s specials were so tempting, we wanted... to order them all. The menu had so many options as well. It does get busy so I would recommend an earlier reservation versus alate one. Also, take an Uber, parking in the local neighborhood can be challenging. This is a must visit place!! When we goback, this will be the first place we eat. Read more
