Best in the downtown/Lake Area. Super-consistent. Delicious, great service, clean restaurant with great music/atmosphere.... Family-friendly. Cocktails are really good also. We usually dine in but have also ordered catering for a large group event; thefood and service knocked it out of the park. Highly recommend. Read more
Ordered take out last night 5/3/2022, much to my surprise there was a 20% gratuity/service charge and a non cash adjustment... charge of $1.10 added to the bill. This is not the way to do business. While I understand credit cards are an added expense tothe establishment a 20% gratuity/service charge on a pickup to go order is unacceptable. We will never order from here again.Sad that a restaurant would do this type of thing. Adios El Gato Negro... Read more
Amazing selection of tequilas. The mixed grill will easily feed 2 adults. The service is very attentive. Will be back soon!
I went in the middle of the day on a weekday for lunch. Plenty of staff. Host was very sweet. Server was not happy to be there.... We were her only table and it still took and hour and a half to get lunch. When my lunch arrived, the enchiladas looked likethey were sitting out for hours. They were really dry, like really dry. They slapped sour cream on a plate to make the rest ofthe dish look good. Was super dissapointing for the price. I hadn't been in years so I was really looking to going. But I won'tbe back. Bummer :( Read more
My wife and I had a great dining experience here toning. Our waiter, Jarron (might be spelled wrong) did an excellent job. Since... we were visiting New Orleans we were not expecting to find such a good Mexican restaurant. We started with the ceviche andcucumber chips. This is the first place I've been where they prepared it in front of you. Next we had the guacamole, alsoprepared at the table. We shared the mixed grilled and it was on point. None of the food was overcooked and very tasty. In theland of crawfish and seafood gumbo this place is worth a departure from New Orleans name sacks. Enjoy. Read more
You should come here if you like tables of screaming children or if you prefer to bring your own. The table guacamole was the... best item we ate but could certainly do better at home. The menu looks varied but in fact it is all mostly the same andoverpriced for what you get. The chips and salsa however were quite tasty. Read more
