Had a great experience dining at Costera! My wife and I sat and ate at the bar. The servers were very informative, attentive,... and friendly. We had a great bottle of Spanish Ribera del Duero and the food was excellent! We over-ordered as usual, but therewere just too many tempting options. We sampled the tapas selection: jamon, blue crab salad, charred octopus. The real star ofthe evening though was the seafood paella! It was filled with huge prawns, mussels, crab, clams. It was the best seafood paellaI've had this side of the Atlantic! Read more
Fancy and casual restaurant that serves some delicious food. Get the family style tasting (I had it at dinner time) if you love... to try new foods and a little bit of everything on the menu. The terres major steak and seafood paella was some of the best I'veever had. Food I got the tasting with my table of 8 and had an amazing experience. There were so many different kinds of foodcoming left and right that I just couldn't keep up with pictures (sorry only pic I took was of the paella, which would you lookat that!!) All the food was delicious and came in appropriate portions. I especially want to give recognition to the steak andpaella. The steak was cooked perfectly so that it was juicy and would just melt in your mouth. The seafood paella had TONS ofseafood in it and the shrimp were GIGANTIC. They just lay the seafood on a bed of rice and it goes well together. There was somuch food that we about 1/5 of the paella was leftover. Atmosphere The interior is very nice and has a fancy feeling to it. Butthe vibe was still casual enough that you could wear shorts and a t-shirt. It's the kind of place that I would want to bring mygirlfriend on a date on for a special kind of occasion. Pricing A more expensive restaurant than I'm used to but every dollarwas worth it. The food was amazing like I said in the food section above. Service Excellent service. Food came out much quickerthan I had anticipated and the waiters would explain which each dish was. Staff was very friendly and nice to joke aroundwith. Other I had Ubered here from my hotel but there might be street parking around. I heard that the ice cream shop next dooris super good. Read more
Always a five start experience. This is our favorite restaurant in New Orleans. This last visit we had the paella which words... cannot do it justice. All of the depth of flavors just sing. The fish a la plancha is also our staple. The latest was a mountainof redfish with fresh vegetables. The new cheesecake dessert with orange glaze is divine, light fluffy, not a heavy cheesecake.I would go just for this dessert. The portions are never skimpy even for tapas. We love to go for Happy Hour. Avoid the crowdsand the bar and tapas specials are well worth it. Wait staff is always prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable especially about thebar as well. This is the best curated bar in New Orleans. Read more

It's fantastic that there is a tapas restaurant in New Orleans. Overall my experience was great and the tapas and cocktails were... delicious. We ordered four tapas for two people and that was the perfect amount. The only reason I am withholding one star isbecause all four of the tapas we ordered were topped with breadcrumbs for texture. I would have preferred a more versatilemethod to add crunch especially since we had four different tapas. Minced raw onions, crispy garlic, pickled veggie, choppedalmonds, are just a few options that might have made the tapas more versatile. Still, the flavors were good and I would goagain, especially with a group so we could share more tapas! We had the albondigas (my partner's favorite), the roastedmushrooms (my favorite), the boquerones (not traditional Spanish boquerones but still tasty), and the yellowfin tuna. Otherthan an overuse of breadcrumbs we liked everything we ate! The cocktails were creative and refreshing and there was a goodselection of Scotch. Service was excellent. Read more
