So. Good. We had the most delicious Cesar salad ever. They used pecans instead of croutons and the dressing was the freshest we... have ever had. We randomly wandered in here for lunch during our wanderings of the riverfront and Jackson Square. What we didn't know when we... walked in was that the Pontalba Buildings are known as the oldest apartment buildings in the United States, designed in the1800s by the Baroness Pontalba. We walked right in and had no wait on a Sunday for a late lunch. We went Cajun with our order aswe got a crawfish and a Cajun sausage po'boys and the fried alligator. The bread for the po' boys was mouthwateringly fresh.Everything was delicious if simple. Our server was attentive but did not rush us to leave as we slowly ate. As we sat and ate wecould watch the bustle and street performers around Jackson Square through the large open glass windows and doors. Read more
