Avoid the lunch menu?I had the crab tacos, crab bisque, sweet &spicy chicken wings, and Caesar salad. They were all bad. The... tacos were bland and tasted/smelled like the crab was fried in light funnel cake batter. The crab bisque smelled like seafoodseafood, not like the good kind. It wasn?t bisquing. Straight out the sea crab. The wings?.these overgrown wings had a goodflavor with the sauce but when you get past that the chicken wasn?t seasoned. The salad wasn?t bad. Added chicken(bland saltand pepper). The dressing is a little different than most Cesar salads. Would not recommend and would rather throw $70 atMcDonald?s. Read more

I don't know why these reviews are so low, but in my family's opinion it was one of the best breakfasts we had in New Orleans.... The grits were so tasty we ordered a second serving. Read more

I ordered an orange juice and banana bread with fruit because I was on a time restriction i figured that would be quick. I was... already waiting to get my drink and order and after my juice came it was over 20 minutes and nobody came back to the table.Unfortunately I had to leave and left cash for the juice and tip. Ridiculous it took so long ...not sure if they bake each pieceto order that would be the only excuse. Read more

12/25/2021 As a hotel linked to the WW2 Museum and coated with war memorabilia, history & pride, I would expect a sense of... American pride. I don't know if you get a different service/experience if you're a veteran or a civilian, but if you'd like toeat here as a civilian, be prepared to be let down and waiting for longer than expected for a 4 star hotel. I certainly hope ourveterans get a better experience than what I got. The cafe has maybe 22-30 tables, split into 2 sections with 2 servers, ahostess and someone that looks like a manager but is more of a food runner. The kitchen staff is 2-3 cooks and 1 busser. Thefood items are relatively simple, what you'd expect for breakfast: eggs, toast, coffee, tea, bagel & cream cheese, and asouthern staple, grits. My boyfriend and I saw a larger table get water, coffee, tea, and their order taken before we gotacknowledged or given water. Table was not prepped for another guest during turnover as it was missing sugar and the salt &pepper didn't appear to be wiped down. We had to ask twice for sugar. When we were served water by the hostess, we stated wewere also ready to order, she didn't acknowledge nor state that she was not our server or that she would send our server to us.We waiting another 5 minutes for our server and sugar. He ordered the omelet with spinach and American & Swiss, with whitetoast. I had the farmer's breakfast which is 2 eggs with bacon (ham or sausage), toast & grit. I substituted the grits foravocado slices. And then waited... The larger table of 6 had their food and was about half-way through their meal. My boyfriendgot his plate and the omelet did not look appealing, and missing spinach, and the wrong cheese. My plate came with the 2 eggsand bacon, another plate for the toast and butter, and missing the avocado slices. The avocado came and it was sad. It was cubedrather than sliced. He stated that his omelet was incorrect and was not acknowledged of the error, instant blame and recov Read more

Cafe Normandie?s atmosphere is really beautiful! This resort just opened recently so it was not crowded at all, which gave us a... nice, quiet dinner. I?m giving this a 4 star review because some of the rice in our gumbo was hard. We politely told our server, who immediately told the cooks, and we heard them say they were cooking a whole new batch. Other than that our food wasdelicious! I?ve never had mirliton dressing out anywhere (except for my mother?s at home) and it was so good! My husband evenloved it and he usually doesn?t eat shrimp! Our server, Garyelle, was very sweet and helpful. Love this unique addition to NewOrleans honoring the WWII era! We look forward to returning in the future! Read more
