Beautiful eclectic location highlighting phenomenal traditional french foodie flavors! Our kids loved the escargot and quail. ... Family friendly afternoons; romantic date night hot spot. Cafe Degas is a favorite with locals, and right down the street fromhistorical and tourist stops as well. Read more

My favorite French restaurant in New Orleans. My parents have dined here for years. Cozy and traditional French atmosphere with... beautiful outside seating. I’ll definitely be returning. The escargot, French onion soup, duck crêpes were my favorite. Read more

Such a lovely little place! You almost feel like you're in a treehouse when you go in there and there is incredible outside... seating as well. The menu was giving me very French vibes and I had a big bowl of delicious muscles and was very happy with theambience and the food and the service and of course the company! I didn't make a point to use the restroom but I'm sure it wasgreat lol This place is off Esplanade so there was a good amount of parking to be had and I would definitely go back! Such a gemof a spot Read more

The service was fantastic. I love that they are one of few places that remains open later. Our server was welcoming and made a... wonderful wine recommendation. The food was delicious, from the shrimp appetizer to the merengue dessert. My only critique isthat my filet was slightly over cooked. I asked for medium and received almost well done. Other than that, I would return again. Read more

Cozy, open air, country-style French bistro with good food, great service and nice ambiance that is pretentious by any means.... The place has been around for 35 years and is located in a mostly residential neighborhood. It was a great find! All disheswere excellent with the exception of the French onion soup, which was not cooked until the onions caramelized, so it lackedrichness. Our server was the perfect amount of attentive and knowledgeable without ever hovering. Read more

Oh I don't know what devil magic the oven runs on but everything that needed toasting was to perfection. The bread before the... meal was...I was transported to France, and a bakery with fresh made bread. Crispy outside, but not hard, just crisp and warmand soft inside. Divine. We ordered the escargot, muscles, and hangar steak. The only reason no 5 stars is because they gaveus food with no utensils, was clear we had nothing to eat with when the food was put down, and the presentation of the steak wasterrible. It was covered in fries. It looked like a plate of fries, not a plate of delicious steak. Yes that sounds picky, sorry not sorry if you don't like it, but I have high expectations and don't recommend places lightly. That being said I WOULDDEFINITELY go back to Cafe Degas. It was a good meal and very intimate and pleasant atmosphere. If you're in the area, youshould drop in. ???????? Read more

My husband and I ended up here by accident for our anniversary dinner and I'm so glad we did! The service was great and the food... amazing. We started with the cheese board, which was great. For entrees, I had the sheepshead and my husband had the lamb. Iwould highly recommend both dishes. Read more
