I eat here every other weekend. ok, every weekend. Best restaurant on this side of town, period. from Manhattan to ... Silverlake - these are the best Dan Dan noodles anywhere. Home made, numb your mouth spicy, and delicious. I get it withoutpork (I don't eat pork, though in New Orleans it's not possible to eat without alittle cochon in your food_. This is a familyoperation, one waitress. and one cook, on busy nights two people in the kitchen. I don't know why it's not always full...maybe because they only open on the weekend. And this location is newish, used to be in a more picturesque location closer tothe river before covid. I hope they return to their full menu, the egg scallion thing was very good. These folks work hard andmake great authentic Chinese food. oh - Don't order dan dan if you can't abide spicey food. This place is for hot Southernpalettes. Read more

Edited 11/30/19 to add that the new space is fantastic!!!! Congrats!!!! The closest thing to NYC Chinese in Nola. Nothing fancy... in terms of decor, but the server was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The meal was delicious. Wetried two appetizers that were the daily special.. Sweet and sour spareribs with the most amazing pickly cucumber cilantroconcoction on top followed by shrimp and pork pan fried dumplings. Both were stellar. For dinner we split Dan Dan noodles andthe lamb noodle dish. Both were fresh noodles cut and made to order. The Dan Dan noodles were dense and chewy, the noodles onthe Dan Dan dish were more soft and doughy. Really delicious and plenty of good for $40. Updated to add: Still top notch. Youwill never be disappointed with ordering their daily bun, dumpling or bao either. Read more

Great atmosphere and even better food. Not a quick meal with only one server but my friends and I had a great time. Tried a few... different menu items- the pork was sooo good, but the Dan Dan noodle dish and the dumplings were definitely my favorite. Highlyrecommend. Read more

Quaint Chinese eatery in a quiet neighborhood. Not your typical Americanized Chinese food. All noodles are made fresh in house... as are the baos. Dan Dan noodles are spicy enough and the noodles are chewy without being gummy. Make sure you toss theingredients together before eating. See the pics. All was delicious. Read more

Let me start with the good, the lamb curry noodles were tasty. I wouldn't go back otherwise. The buns were under seasoned and... the dipping sauce was basically just soy sauce. The scallion pancakes were burnt and overcooked and served with the same dippingsauce. I really hoped this place would be awesome, but unfortunately I was really just unimpressed. Read more
