It was my first time here, and I brought my son who was visiting from Chicago. The food was good, but the grits had lumps and... was kind of thick. I had pancakes that were ok. They were not that fluffy, and I asked for blueberries in mine; which there werea few in there. The menu is great. I will go back to make another assessment with something else from the menu. Great place to go for tasty brunch! On top of the awesome food, the free Veterans Day French toast was the icing on the cake of... a perfect dining experience! Will definitely come back again! Read more

Arrived around 10:45am and there was a 1hr wait. We sat in the outside seating waiting to be called and because no one wanted to... sit outside due to the rain, we were allowed to sit outside but at a different table. The fan in that area was not working so itgot hot really fast. We then moved back to our original seats so the wind could blow. Only thing is, the don't seem to wipe downthe outside tables after each guest so we had to deal with the leftover wasted syrup from previous diners. We both ordered theRwanda coffee, excellent choice for $4+. We also both ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles weren't very hot but thechicken was good, even though one piece stayed in a little too long. It is served with a honey, Chipotle glaze in a very verysmall salad dressing cup. I wanted to ask for more but our waitress was so busy that we didn't really get to see her. Glad I gotthe tall glass of water because it got hot after the rain. There are stairs to get inside but there is a small elevator forthose who can't take the steps. One downside was everyone waiting wanted to be out of the sun and rain so they all stood on theporch so they are standing around those eating outside. Also there were people smoking under the porch and I didn't care forthat part. Overall it was a good experience. Read more

This is always, for five years running (missing one due to Covid) been my first place to go for breakfast in the Big Easy. I... always eat here the first day, and this year was no exception. The mimosas are delicious and pack an excellent little breakfastbuzz. The gluten-free pancakes are literally to-die-for and the city grits make me tear up a bit...happy tears of course. I atehere two different mornings. I plan all my restaurants ahead, due to being gluten-free and the one morning, the line at anotherrestaurant was too insane, so I went back here to my go-to. The first visit was so perfect. Alexus was my server and she was sofriendly and brought me everything I needed. This was one of my first breakfasts out after Covid, but the restaurant wasn't toobusy, and the great food took my mind off any Covid worries. They do check your vaccination record. I ordered the lobster andbrie omelette and it was perfectly delicious. Great visit the Wednesday before Mardi Gras. The only thing I was I was missingwere those little individual jars of maple syrup. I did return on Saturday and was seated relatively quickly, even though therewas a waitlist. Lindsey was my waitress and she was excellent also. The family beside me had a child who spilt juice all overthe floor and even though she was very busy she helped clean it up and provided us all with excellent service. The reason I'mdocking one star is that one thing happened to me on this visit that happened the last time I ate there in 2020 on my way out ofNOLA. This time I deviated from my norm and ordered the Mardi Gras omelette. This is the menu description: Filled with Louisianacrawfish, gulf shrimp, andouille and red peppers, topped with tomato hollandaise, tomatoes and green onions. I was disappointedbecause there was barely ANY of that in that omelette. I literally found ONE red pepper. It was delicious and would've made theomelette if only there had been more of them. While my omelette on Wed was packed this on Read more

Cute cafe serving brunch and cocktails with good vegetarian options and healthy choices in a quaint southern house in Lakeview.... Outdoor seating available on the lovely wrap-around porch with views of Harrison Ave. My companion and I enjoyed variations onthe vegetarian omelette brunch. I ordered mine with egg whites and City Grits, while they ordered as is. Both orders came withEnglish muffins. We also shared a pitcher or strawberry mimosas, which was more than enough for two local lushes! Staff areknowledgeable and friendly. I don't recall them wearing masks, but proof of vaccination status is required for dining in. Tablesare spaced reasonably well, although it wasn't crowded when we visited on a weekday afternoon about an hour till close. Idefinitely recommend this location. The food is great and dining in seems reasonably safe. Read more

Food was pretty good. I was able to get gluten free pancakes and they were yummy! Didn?t care for the eggs and bacon too much.... Service was great as we sat at the bar. You must have proof of vaccination or negative test within 72 hours. Parking lot issmall and cramped. Read more
